Just took a quick peek at Shrewsbury's form since new manager Paul Hurst took over. Unbeaten in 4 games. (all comps inc Checkatrade). Scored 9 conceded 1. Sounds like fans really getting behind them too. Suspect this will be a different kettle of fish to our 3 - 0 away win, but it's hard to see us losing at present. Confident wilder will be aware of the threat though.

Sounds like a probable draw could be on the cards??
Hope not though, 3 points are starting to feel appropriate.

We will slip up at some point and this is the kind of fixture that has seen us unravel in recent years. I suspect they will set up not to lose and frustrate us. Things are different now though, we seem to have the skills and the firepower to deal with whatever is put in front of us.

2-0 United.

In the last 4 games they've drawn with Southend, beaten Barnet, Middlesbrough's under 21's and Oxford. Before that they conceded 4 against Northampton and 3 against us.

If we play like we have been doing we shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I said the other week that I hope the results pick up for them because they're probably the nicest set of fans in the league, I hope those words don't come back to bite me on the arse...

Was at their game vs Barnet, they certainly seemed to be playing with a bit of freedom and confidence, although that was against a sub-Orient level of hoof/long throw merchants, so who knows, if they play us at our game I can't see it ending well for them. +1 on their fans being a decent bunch

Thanks Tyler for those kind comments about the fans.I live close to the ground and from what I gather the defence still lacks confidence. An early goal and I am sure they will cave in.

I'm like a broken record saying the exact same thing in recent weeks.

Port Vale had a terrible away record and I was saying that was the type of match we'll lose.
Shrewsbury were bottom of the league and fighting for their lives, said it would be a tough match.
MK Dons had just sacked their manager and a bit of a bogey side, predicted we'd probably draw.
Chestefield was a local derby and bottom of the league, predicted a really tough match.

I keep saying these types of matches were potential banana skins but Wilder always has us well prepared.
So I'm sure he'll have the players focussed and ready for a tough match against Shrewsbury.
As long as we stay focussed we'll win comfortably, it's when we think we only have to turn up then welll struggle.
