Barely even touches him.
No pushing motion whatsoever. It's a natural reaction to raise your hands when you are going to collide with someone/something.
I can see why the ref gave it...but it was as soft as shit
When you look at the 50/50 challenges he let go it’s even more surprising that he gave a pen.
If you give them, then you have to give a penalty at every corner to be consistent. In the highlights there is an example of a Reading player pulling a handful of a Blades shirt and it is very obvious. It's still a two-handed shove in the back. Fouls aren't generally judged on how hard you hit someone.
Said exactly the same at the time - giving penalties like that (which he couldn't wait to give) and it opens a massive can of worms, especially at corners. Yes, Baldock had his hands on the attacker, but i didn't see any pushing motion, certainly nowhere near enough to prompt the "reaction" it got !If you give them, then you have to give a penalty at every corner to be consistent. It was the same reaction he’d have got from almost any PL player. It was stupid.Said exactly the same at the time - giving penalties like that (which he couldn't wait to give) and it opens a massive can of worms, especially at corners. Definitely a penalty. I was close to the incident and saw it clearly.I know it's not the prevailing opinion on here, but that looked like a penalty to me. You shouldn't shove someone like that, regardless of whether it's enough to actually knock them over. Still, can't argue with the result!
Yep, that's where football is now, and it's bollocks. Where's the consistency though ?It was the same reaction he’d have got from almost any PL player. It was stupid.
Bet Wilder gave him a right bollocking that was a stupid pen to give away.No pushing motion whatsoever. It's a natural reaction to raise your hands when you are going to collide with someone/something.
