They should be doing offers for this match.

A full house for the last game to give the team a well deserved lap of honour.

Unlike Wednesday fans who did not even bother to show up or stick around for their "lap of honour"

Can't believe they aren't at least doing "mate for a tenner" tickets and quid a kid.

Disagreements over promos and STs aside, the players deserve a full house on Saturday to say thanks for finally putting some bloody effort into this football lark :D

I think the ST holders also deserve a full house ,this leading to a good atmosphere as they have endured some absolute shite the first half of the season with no atmosphere what so ever
oh and by the way im not a ST holder myself but still get to as many as i can

free to anyone sporting a beard :)
all tickets half price to get BDTBL packed to the rafters, maybe extend that to season tickets and ticket prices next year, ti make BDTBL the formidable ground it once was.
I know these wont happen but if Carlsberg owned SUFC....oh wait it IS the best football club in the world :)

why if we all love our team, if we respect their efforts this season since Clough took over, if we want to celebrate the last game of the season, if we want to celebrate the cup run etc etc etc should they do cheap tickets?
Ive got a season ticket, I've not been given a cheap ticket.

EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES.

£18 is lose change even to dole wallers.

give me what shit you want i don't give a fuck, you've had weeks to save this £18 so get to Lane, or if you think its too dear then don't go, your choice, but remember we are one of the cheapest stadiums and match day experiences around.

Thats all been well bob, allright you having a rant ,i'm going but its not just £18 for me, i've got my 2 kids and my wife actually wants to go aswell,so work that out ,by the time youv'e fucked about with everything that goes with a matchday experience it aint £18 is it

Oh and by the way its your choice to have a season ticket as its everyone elses choice to not have one, each to their own and all that.Funnily enough theres this thing in life called circumstances and priorities in life and don't start with this bigger blade bollox either.

£18 may be loose change to dole wallers but I can assure you it isnt to me and I work full time. I have a season ticket and agree with others that have said it should be £10.

It's a difficult one. Most people want cheaper tickets but then, in the next breath/post have a wish list of players 'we should buy'. Too late for the Coventry game now, but at this time of the season we keep hearing about players 'running on empty', 'already on the beach' and fucking flip-flops.

Well, many fans' wallets will be 'running on empty' after all the costs of the Cup run. Gary Sinclair acknowledged as much in the game v. Brentford on 1st April (15,7k crowd). Just this once an bit of imaginative pricing could have rewarded the fans (not all Johnny-come-latelys. Most of us stuck with the dross under Weir.) A bumper gate would have allowed more-than-usual numbers to fully thank the players for all their efforts. And vice versa.

you've had weeks to save this £18 so get to Lane...

And how many matches have we had during those weeks for people to cough up for? During the month of April, we've had 8 matches - one of which being Wembley.

I'm a ST holder. But it's a nothing game at the end of a season where some mutual back-slapping should be undertaken.

Us to the players and management team for giving us something to cheer about this year. Them for the fact that so many fans stuck by them.

And it's a nothing game for Coventry now.

I'd hope United had properly thought about promotions and stuff next year... but for a one-off this season, they could've done summat.

I wonder how many people who live solely on benefits actually go to games. Very very few I'd hazard.

Typical Sheffield United FC - Commercially they are a joke - They do not appear to be Marketing Savvy - a great opportunity to close the season with a big crowd and they piss it up the wall.
During April we have had Orient, Brentford, Rotherham and a little matter of a FA Cup Semi Final - many supporters, especially with families have forked out hundreds of pounds to support the team - it would have been a great gesture to reduce the prices and also an incentive to push ST sales for next year!
Whilst I have ultimate faith in Mr Clough to get it right on the field, I have no faith whatsoever that the Off the Field Commercial / Marketing aspects of the club will improve - in business terms they are definitely 4th Division !

Appears too late to make a difference for next season. They should have offered an incentive that the game is 18 however you would be able to purchase a season ticket for next season at the same price as the current season ticket holders with your stub

Just how hard is this really?

The club need to be much smarter with pricing. The Orient and Brentford games were way overpriced this month, which further added to the Wembley burden.

Not sure I buy into this either that we need to have high ticket prices to sign players. I don't think revenue from tickets equates to a lot. Besides, you would rather than someone attend 2 times as many games a season, for less than half the price.

There's been more effort put in on this forum regarding ST sales than united have ever done,iv'e been looking around other teams sites and everyones iv'e seen have got there ST on sale. The only thing i can think of is they have something good in the pipeline, you never know.Me personally have never had a ST but some seasons i have gone to allmost every home game and a lot of away ones , next season i am getting one with my lad whos now 9 and need to know the prices so i can sort other things out,i also know of a few other people with similar circumstances who also want to know whats happening ,any chance soon united.

You are right mate and i really do appreciate what you are saying, I've got three that are now grown up and they've all had season tickets and now its grandkids, so i do understand, but i honestly do feel that some folk use it as an excuse for not going when it really isn't that dear for individuals, certainly not dearer than comparable clubs.

If i had my way id do school kids free every game with an adult paying ticket.

Linz it is not a NOTHING GAME it's a Blades game, the team we love. And as someone else says above those same fans want us as a club to spend millions, you can't have it both ways, and as I've said above i do understand as I've had to pay for three kids, and id sooner stop in during the week to afford to go to a weekend match, whereas some of these that can't afford it don't seem to have problems affording booze most nights of a week. I honestly believe its 50/50, some truly struggle to afford and some can but don't want too but will still moan about cost.
Its all about opinions and priorities, at least its a good sensible thread with honest answers and no slanging matches, this debate couldn't happen on Bladesmad.

Not sure I'd recommend that idea for the sake of just one end of season game. By now most people have decided whether they want to buy a season ticket (or not), and all we'd be doing is reducing our take from them.

I like the idea though - if it was offered a bit earlier in the season across a select few games, then it's a winner.

Sloppy, lazy marketing. Can almost imagine them sat there chewing on their pencils, thinking about their summer holidays and drinking endless cups of coffee and finally coming up with a decision of 'let's just charge 'em £18.00. Nobody will notice 14,000 empty seats'.

Well this forum has noticed and I hope the higher powers that be at the club come down hard on those responsible for this decision. I've said it before - they only have 23 dates to fill the ground. I hope those with Twitter can forward these comments to Jim Phipps.

There are people at the club who still haven't quite 'got it'.

Yesterday I received an email from the club regarding insurance. Bollocks to insurance - get that ground filled!!

Absolutely brilliant

.Me personally have never had a ST but some seasons i have gone to allmost every home game and a lot of away ones , next season i am getting one with my lad whos now 9

just like my dad and me! My dad never had a season ticket until the 1971-72 season (he was 41 then) even though he was a Lane regular since the war and I was a Lane regular since January 1970. I was 9 when I got my first season ticket!

Prices seem reasonable to me. Last home game, been on a good run - surely the price won't put many off? £18 doesn't go a long way these days - you can pay that for a meal at Pizza Hut.

Having said that, I'd have had no problem with discounts being offered even though I am a ST holder.

£18 is a lot to people who dont have it, thats english football though, was £12 to go and watch schalke in a bundeslga game earlier this season , we just dont get it right
