Over half our team are new, their goal was a shot from outside the box and our mid-field controled the game for long periods of time away from home, but our forwards have let us down in front of goal.
Disapointing yes,but it's a bit early in the day to start making for the knife drawer innit !!!

How many chances did ur forwards actually miss?

Haven't got the faintist yet and I didn't say they had missed any, but if they didn't have a chance over 90 minutes we really are in trouble ...

Bolton's two chances were a result of long throws. They created nothing otherwise. The second chance - the one where Long saved (and fair play it was an excellent save - we thought it might have hit the post) was a result of the ref giving a foul throw on Brayford for pinching a couple of yards. Some of their throws pinched similar yardage and weren't called up. Annoying as the ref must have understood their threat from Long throws and handed them a golden opportunity. We didn't deal with the long throws very well, which is a concern.

We seem to think the referee will mark Spearing:

And seeing the highlights Basham didn't deal with the ball in, so that's how it got trough to Duffy. Marking suspect on edge of box and we were ball watching. Surely the whole point about one of those long throws is to see what comes after the initial challenge. We've profited from the same tactic in the past.
Lack of concentration cost us

just from that small clip it looks like we are playing with a bit of urgency which has been sorely lacking recently
great to see the proper kit back.. biggy was right in the shoutbox. there was no stopping that goal. what bugs me though is that teams always seem to score these 'worldies' against us

Perhaps they have to be 'worldies' because the keeper is OK?

Maybe I'm missing something but where are all of these doom and gloom posts? All I've seen is many people, accurately, point out that we had a very bright first 20/25 minutes then faded and also pointing out that there are areas of the team that need strengthening...there are, Wilder is still trying to sign players so he agrees too.

It's entirely possible to point out that there are flaws in our team without being doom and gloom ain't it!?

Clarke's miss was even worse than I thought at the time, wish they'd shown Longs save, looked quality at the time.

Just shows how deluded some of these doom mongers are, watching that.

Radio made it sound like a bright, aggressive, fluent performance. Watching that, it seems they were right. Much to be excited about. Just wish we could shake off these idiots who want to piss and moan constantly. They just get in the way.

Can't believe 24 have liked that. FFS...

The doom comes from 5 years of failure and pain at this level so you can't really blame people for feeling as though it's much of the same.

I saw some encouraging signs yesterday and am optimistic that Tufty and the BFG will get it all sorted over the course of the next few weeks to mount a realistic challenge this season.

We will play much lower quality opposition over the coming months.

I wonder if the fitness levels aren't quite up there yet to play 90 mins of pressing football against a defensive team

Pity they didn't show Long's second half save as that was the only opportunity Bolton created

Undone by long throws and slack marking. I was behind the goal and didn't think Long had a chance with it. I didn't see his second half save (from a long throw), as I was busy waiting for sold out pies! It on the vid at 1.13.

Despite our 'no shots on goal' we created some great chances and I've been told Sharps 'goal' was a yard onside!

Good day out though and plenty of Bladey atmosphere at the Beehive.....

The video starts at their goal.

Thanks chaps, never noticed the long throw 'problem' at the game!

What was the Bladey atmosphere then? Were all and sundry snorting cocaine and swinging from the air con units?!
