Of course, that was on a night when drugs were cheap and the brain-cells (assuming there were any in the first place) were given an easy ride....oh, and of course this will have been some time ago considering where the grunts are currently positioned.
For some it might be good to reflect, imagining how life once was a long, long time ago. It will help deaden the memory of once being labelled 'Sheffield's biggest club', a title that has little relevance to anything in particular.
Fast forwarding to the present day and little wendy's plight to gain some sort of credibility, if not success...the dark clouds are now a fixture over at the rusty car-park, and the hunt is on for a glimmer of hope, something that has evaded them for...well for far too long as far as anyone can recall.
At least they have the sight of their neighbours, the mighty Sheffield United, to remind them that at least one Sheffield Club isn't afraid to let the world know that there's a right way to achieve success. Just as we'll be considering whether to break another transfer record, I wonder how wendy's current roster will look, assuming they haven't depleted their ranks to the point where they are even more ineffective than they've been for the last few seasons. Not a great deal to look forward to, is there, but there's always bluster and lies to take the place of facts and the truth, so why worry, after all, it's become something of a bad habit for most wendy supporters as they continue their role as Yorkshire's premium comedy club.
