nowt wrong with Travelodge mate, their beds are superb. i got one of the big special rooms once in Inverness and it was better than many 4 star hotels i've been in.. had a huge bath in it. i didnt' need a bath but had a go anyway

We stayed in a few when we are doing Antiques Fairs a bit further afield. Pretty basic but yes, the beds were amongst the best I've ever slept in.

Since the early 1970s when taking penalties at the playing fields I usually took them like Woody did by placing the ball to the keeper's left. I was the keeper in school matches (from u12s to the 1st team) from March 1974 to April 1978 so I was Jim Brown! In my last schoolyear (1978-79) I made it known that I didnt want to play in goal anymore so for the 1st team I was either playing in the wings or was the sub. In Summer 1978 I was impressed with young Argentinian boys doing keepy uppies display on tv during the World Cup so I practised on doing keepy uppies and even more so after we signed Sabella. When doing warm ups for the school 1st team matches I got funny looks from my team mates when I was doing keepy uppies and they were telling me that it wasnt necessary doing it as a warm up. The 1st team captain , David Galbraith (an armchair L**ds fan from Beverley and played for Berkshire in school county matches, played in same team as Lawrie Sanchez) would shake his head and saying to me "You are trying hard to be like Sabella!"

In 1954 I pestered my mother's life out to buy me a Blades shirt from Suggs Sports and eventually she relented .

The first time I wore it was in a 3rd . form Games afternoon in Concord Park and I was told to play inside forward so , naturally , I imagined I was my hero at the time , Jimmy Hagan .

We won 4 - 3 against a much stronger team on paper and I scored a hat trick ! Best I ever played as a kid .

Wearing the shirt and playing as my hero - coincidence ? I don't think so .

I was given a V neck vintage shirt as a 5 year old in 1965. My mum said I refused to take it off all summer holidays including going to bed in it. Apparently she used to take it off me when I was asleep so that she could wash it - I used to win the FA cup every day in our garden with a last minute goal.
