Paddy McCarthy?

Part of Nigel Clough's attempt to solve the problem he'd created for himself by allowing Maguire to be sold, dropping Collins and falling out with Andy Butler.

It didn't work. Of course the ultimate result of this problem was the 4 full back defence in the 5-5 draw at Swindon.

There are tonnes I wish I could forget but by definition if I write them on here I've remembered them.

Your 'accusation' persuaded me to look more closely at Benjamin and Wiggan, and almost 40 years on, I think I can claim there are mitigating circumstances for my confusing them. They were both young, black players, highly-rated as youngsters, and both made their debuts in the final game of the season (Benjamin, 1979, and Wiggan, 1980). They both played a handful of matches, each scored 3 goals, neither fulfilled their early promise, and pretty well disappeared off the radar quickly, though Benjamin went for a big fee to West Brom. How confusing is that?
If that doesn't get me off the charge, I shall try the Ernest Saunders defence of Alzheimer's; older readers will remember that he was given a lengthy jail sentence, and released almost immediately because he was suffering from Alzheimer's. He then became the first person in history to make a complete recovery from the disease. Wonder if he got in the Guiness Book of Records...

Have we had Jonas Wirmola? If not, then Jonas W........

Oh shit! I forgot again!
