Reading this morning that the takeover of Newcastle is in doubt as the Premier league may think the new Saudi owners could pull rank on our owner.
The Saudi at Newcastle is a proper Prince and much further up the pecking order than ours, suggestions are that if Newcastle wanted any of our players then our owner would be to scared to turn them down. They also fear what pressure we would be under if we were involved in a crucial game affecting them from their new owners.
Time for our Prince to take a few lashes for the team.

To be fair to the OP and Mail if you relegated the club owned by the Saudi Royal family, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that you may find yourself in chop chop square on grounds of high treason.

There's a thread on this over on "Other Football & Sport". I'm on record in Dem Blades Fanzine & my Blog with some pointing the finger at myself views on The Big Prinz's money being used at the Club I love.
But, putting that to one side. And generalising, rather than pointing at particular countries, individuals or clubs.
The wider point made in The Mail article is correct in my view.
The ownership of English football clubs is becoming internationalised, and complex, and reliant on multi national companies, and even on foreign governments, and requiring high levels of debt from international finance. That is creating a complex set of relationships where international conflicts, family feuds, high finance & big business can play out in English football.

As we move away from ownership by the local greengrocer magnate, and reject the Bundesliga 50% +1 fan ownership model, football becomes more at the whim of the bigger picture. (My opinion)

If true this will also be a major concern regarding CW. I can't imagine him wanting to stay around for very long if he is subtly asked by our Prince to:

• throw a game
• try to not finish as high up in the table
• selling NUFC a player or two that he doesn't want to

After Bruce's reign is over they might even come calling for CW to top matters off, I don't mind admitting that I'd be bitterly jealous to see CW managing NUFC.

Just as SUFC is looking to be embarking on it's most exciting and promising period in it's entire history something from somewhere has to potentially become a barrier, whether that be Covid-19 seriously jeopardising our best season for over 40 years or NUFC's potential new owners having some form of senior influence over our owner.

Starting to wonder if SUFC is just completely cursed no matter what we do despite all the hard work we've put in to get here, and probably the best Manager most clubs could hope to ever come across.

Newcastle will never be a successful club. Too far from London and Manchester. WAGS won't live there, not glamorous enough for them. Not that there's anything wrong at all with Newcastle. Same applies to Glasgow.
