Blades in Nepal

When I was younger I walked the Anunpura trail from Pokhara to Jomson then returned on a terrifying plane ride. Didn't dare go much above 4000 metres, was scared of altitude sickness and avalanches. Base camp must have been a right slog. Well done!

Weerz Yeti?
If you don't kidney punch a Yeti you can't call yourselves blades.....
😁
Nice pics though

The abominable snowman must be 80 odd years old, tip it off its rock and kidney punch it..

I trekked to Everest Base camp in 1999. As part of a group who were attempting to summit. Emphasising I wasn't part of the climbing group. My objective was only ever Base Camp. I am related by marriage to the expedition leader.

Michael Matthews was part of the group and died on the mountain long after I'd set off back to Kathmandu.

His brother, Spencer Matthews, (of Made In Chelsea), has reportedly made a film about the tragedy with Disney+, called Finding Michael. But, I understand there have been delays in releasing it.

Constantine Niarchos was also a climber as part of the group who I trekked with. He was the son of a Greek Shipping Magnate and reputedly a Billionaire. He summited Everest on that expedition. But just two weeks later, he died (in London) of a cocaine overdose. At the inquest, it was said he had ingested enough cocaine to kill 25 men!!!

One of the Sherpas I passed on the Trek was wearing a replica Overmars Arsenal shirt. He got told to Royally Fuck Off.

Is it just me that gets all moist around the groin at the sight of chicks in outdoor gear? Goes a fair way to explain why I'm banned from every Go Outdoors in the country I suppose. :(

Can you recommend a local pub to watch away games in😉
Managed to watch the West Brom game on my phone in Pokhara although it finished around 4am. There was WiFi in most of the tea houses we stayed in on the trek but I guess the bandwidth wasn’t enough so had to watch the highlights of the remaining games when we got back to Kathmandu.

It wasn’t my choice of viewing, but I ended up watching Finding Michael with Mrs Trig a few months back, so it has definitely been released. I had no idea who Spencer Matthews is and set out not wanting to like him when I found out, not being a reality TV fan, but he came across really well and without spoiling the ending, I felt it was an uplifting documentary.

It’s a climatically brutal part of the world and not somewhere I would ever want to venture, kudos to you for having the balls necessary, even to get to base camp and of course for verbally abusing an Overmars shirt wearer 🙂

Great pics Johannesburg

For any of the outdoors types on here, in fact for anybody, you should watch Aftershock, Everest and the Nepal Earthquake. Its a 3 part documentary on netflix with loads of live footage of the 2015 earthquake and shows the impact in 3 sifferent places. It's gripping and has some very unexpected twists and turns.

Load of wusses. I've been up Scafell, Helvellyn and Skiddaw. All without extra oxygen. Only needed Kendal Mint Cake in my day. Don't know they're born these days...

This is unimpressive. You often see Blades tackling Everest after a few pints on a Saturday night.
