As I said newer fan so still learning as much about the Blades as I possibly can and just purchased this on Amazon61l+zroLueL._AC_SY400_.jpg ,comes out in December.Any other good books about the Blades yall recommend?

Also in yalls opinion what is the greatest game you've seen live? Or if not seen in person should always be considered a great part of Blades history?

Blades Vs Coventry - they were Prem, we were second tier (whatever they called it at the time) - League Cup semi on a Tuesday night at the Lane. The place was howling under the floodlights - real spine tingling stuff. Its all a bit blurred and blurry now, but as I remember it we equalised late on - Dave Holdsworth I think - then bossed them through extra time before pens in front of the Kop. We had Alan Kelly in his prime, they had Oggi Ogrizovic from Chesterfield - Kelly saved at least one and our two Gods at full back - Wayne Quinn (still a favourite of mine) and Vas Borbokis scored the important pens. The Kop was bouncing - if Id been a Cov player I don't think id dared have scored. The back row hammering on the back wall and the rest roaring like wildfire. Fuck me - the Lane was an animal that night!

One to never forget - the feeling of the Lane if not the details of the match! :)

FA Cup, Quarter Final Replay.

That Coventry game!
Defo one of the best atmospheres iv experienced at the lane, I remember watchin the highlights and the commentators constantly going on about how loud it was.
But too many to mention, Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool, Barnsley etc in the cups, the forest playoff has to be up there as well

Beating Cardiff 5 -1 in the penultimate match in 1971 with them in third only a point behind us and a game in hand. Beating leeds 1 - 0 in the League Cup, I think the same season, they were really in their shittiest prime at the time and we were given no chance of beating them.
Blades 5, Arsenal 0, TC sitting on the ball near to that twat Alan Ball just to take the piss.
There are plenty more great memories including the Forest play off as mentioned but very difficult to choose just one.

January 2003 we had four consecutive games televised live: two-legged League Cup semi final against Liverpool (came from behind to win the first leg at the Lane), pigs at home (also came from behind to win, the winner a spectacular thumping volley from Michael Brown) and a trip to table-topping Portsmouth (another impressive win).

Earlier in the same season we dumped Leeds out of the League Cup scoring twice in added time to turn around a 1-0 deficit. A teenage Phil Jagielka rescued the tie with a half volley from about 40 yards out.

Then of course that Forest game...

All the above, particularly the Cardiff 5-1 & Farcenal (TC > Alan Ball) 5-0 - 4 up in summat like 20 minutes !!!!

Honorable mention to Peterborough away In 4th - bricking it as they were deemed 'contenders' - until we did em 4 -0
Went on a 'football special' ( ask your granda)

Tbf you should have to watch all the worst games to get a real good feel for us.

I personally have a few special memories ..

Forest in play off semi 2nd leg has to be up there number 1.

Blackburn quarter final replay 2-2 (Wards goals) winning on Pembos penalty. Never forget the back of the kop that night party atmosphere.

Away to pigs Bobby Davidson double pretty special. My first time at swillsborough hugging strangers.
