This seems to be a phrase bandied about a lot at the moment, on various fora, when Blades call for Robson to be booted out and a replacement found.

Now, I'm not one of these people - I think he needs time, although thus far it's been a disappointing start to the season - but I fail to see what's fickle about saying Robson's not the man for the job.

Many, many Blades were very much less than impressed at his being taken on in the first place, so it's not like he's fallen from grace. Many of the fans who want him out have not changed their tune; they are simply continuing showing their dissatisfaction with his leadership.

If his arrival was greeted with a flurry of excitement, fanfares and trumpets, I could understand the 'fickle' thing - but let's be honest, it wasn't!

Totally agree Matty,

I'm more than happy to get behind Robson, and I am too very disappointed with the started to the season, but he does need a bit of time. Even though yes I never thought he was the right man for us.

You are right to say the Blades fans aren't fickle but we do seem to have become very impatient. I would argue that Robson needs to be given time especially when you consider the dissapointment of being relegated and the very turbulent pre season. I don't want us to turn into a bunch of fans who expect success, that attitude gets you nowhere. The best we can do now is go out against Wolves and show what we're made of on and off the pitch.

As fans we have shown that we can be the 12th man and I would implore everybody to stay positive........for now anyway.

Blades fans haven't become very impatient... a great many of them have always been that way!

I'll be cheering against Wolves come what may. And I won't be leaving early either - that really grinds my gears™!

That's true, it's probably because of forums and radio phone ins that it seems to have got worse.
Have to agree about the leaving early bit, especially if the result is in the balance. You wouldn't leave the cinema 10 mins before the end of a film would you?

I would say your fickle. I don't think it's really about the Robson out fans, but more to do with the Warnock in's.

Im not saying it's all of you, because the majority of people i have spoke to want to give Robson a chance, or was never really for him in the first place as he's a boring waste of space :D

But it's the people who one week slate Neil warnock "useless wanker", "wrong tactics" etc and then the next week want him in

Last season this was every week, again, not as much on here, but more on stations like Radio Sheffield or newspapers like the Star.

End of the day, some of you are fickle, but then again, what football fan isn't

We as fans have a right to our opinions, and if you pay to go see them play and they play shite you have every right to vent your frustration.

I'm not one for booing players at all but if they play shit they deserve some stick. You can't just let them get away with it week in week out, footballs only a job and if you under performed at any level of work you'd get stick so why should it be any different for footballers.

At SUFC ATM there is nothing at all to be positive about with regards to the footballing side of things,

we are playing rubbish
players are well under-performing
managers tactics/team selections are at times shocking

also from what Robson said he was going to do when he 1st came here nothing has happened.

We signed Naismith & Hendrie, both injured and when they did play they were shocking. Hendrie even got subbed off!!!

Beattie is doing OK but you'd expect nothing less for someone who cost 4M

We are playing virtually the exact same way as we did under NW, where is this passing/possession game he was supposed to bring.

I don't accept that he's only been in charge for 4 games bollox, he's had all pre-season and he's got Kidd who knows every player inside out and he still doesn't know who's his best players.

Now I'm not usually so negative and for anyone who knows me you know I always give my 100% support during games but at the moment I am very worried about the team in general, I am worried that Robson is going to fuck things up and damage our promotion chances.

Like I said I pay my money to go see them play and I always give 100% support during games, but I can't sit back and not be concerned about the state of the team ATM.

Rant over.

if a team's doing well the manager is praised, if the team is doing shit the manager is slated all around the country in every football club

i too think we have made a poor start to the season compared to the season we were promoted...but lets not forget sunderland last season they lost ther first 4 games, our first 4games we've got 4 points so already we are 4points better than sunderland

however, i cnt understand why people are slagging robbo of already when he's only had a matter of 2/3months to get the team together

In my view, the more worrying behavourial problem with our fans is blind unending loyalty with everything and anything SUFC. That means that anything remotely resembling criticism is denounced as some sort of heresy.

Were shit, Robson's proving my initial misgivings. Nobody is singing for him to be sacked. But saying we have been total crap so far this season doesn't make me or anyone else with a negative viewpoint a social leper for having an opinion.

Where is this denoucement you talk of?

Having an opinion may mean that people like Robson.

I'd suggest that many opinions may be in between such views.

I think they are, but as three of the most recent topics in this section show, people seem to be more inclined to voice their opinions against people moaning that of the team being crap.

And are they not allowed those opinions?

Just to point out, my thread was originally against the people who denounce the moaners for being 'fickle' when in fact they're nothing of the sort.

For example?

Do you expect this lot to stick to the original thread?

:p

Looking at the definition I think you may be wrong...........

marked by lack of steadfastness, constancy, or stability : given to erratic changeableness

:D

For example?

Starting with Leggy and Monty in the same midfield against colchester, sticking with Keef when the guy should have been released at the end of last season, telling the wingers to come inside and cut off width, sticking with Killa when the lad hasnt started the season well at all.

We have been playing long ball, no movement, nothing. We played better football under warnock than weve been playing so far, and thats saying something.

The people who want him sacked are stupid, but its not going well so far.

Id say the football has changed abit.

Attacking wise against West Brom i thought we were quality and i was surprised the game finished 1-0.

Although it all seemed to go tits up against Scunny.

You beat me too it!!

Also the tactics V Watford were shite and he also dropped Geary??

The only game he's actually looked interested in was the WBA game, and I wonder why that was?

may be he was sober!! From the horses mouth ,the players are concerned about his drink problem, thats direct from a present player. Also know someone who was at a do at the marriot hotel(nether edge) other week. Robson sat at the bar (he's stayed there whilst in sheffield), there was a crash , mr roson had fallen from his stool! easily done on high bar stools i suppose ! Kiddo evidently running the show, which supposedly getting robson at bdbl was the way to keep kiddand attract bigger name players, as he didn't want to step up to manager.

Also WTF has Daley left, he was great at the club and a great fitness coach. If he's left cos of Robson then it's way out of order.

I'm basing my issue with the Daley thing purely on gut feelings and coincidence but it set alarm bells going when I heard of this "disagreement" between him and Robbo.

Only a day or 2 before the news broke, a West Brom fan came on here and made a few comments about how the Robson regime killed the fitness of their squad and I've heard similar things from a Middlesborough fan. Like I say, it's only hearsay mixed with coincidence but it worries me none-the-less.

If it's as bad as you all say I couldn't see it lasting long under McCabe.

Very true SF. Only time will tell. If all that comes of the rumours are more rumours, then we know they aren't true.

What pisses me off is that it's not exactly in the distant past that we were laughing about how fickle that lot at the sty were, and proudly stating that we were the stoic ones who'd support though thin and thinner.

We have a couple of years where we get the merest whiff of success, and then all of a sudden, it's expected, especially from the newbies.

I've lost count of the number of times in the last couple of seasons or so, where I've wanted to smack someone squarely in the chops while saying "Have you ever been here before? This standard of play is perfectly representative of the turgid nonsense I've had to endure for most of the thirty years of coming down here. Now shut the ferk up."

Or something like that. Maybe just the first six words, together with the last five. It also might take more than one square smack in the chops, but you get my drift.

I've heard something very similar. Heard he was blathered for 90% of the tour of Ireland for a start. If we were top of the league with a 100% record then he can get smashed in bits every night for me, but unfortunately we're not. Bit worrying

What you have to remember is that right now, this is the best position the clunb has ever been in, financially.

We all have a right to expect good things at the moment and with all the spiel that has come out of McCabes and Robsons mouths we are only following the expectations they have set us.

At the end of the day for some reason McCabe loves Robson, I think he got suckered in with the 'Captain Marvel' bollox. McCabe has wanted a 'big name' manager for a while now and seems blinded by his player status.

What would you like us to do, just become a set of plastic fans who clap at everything and never complain?

No we are a set of very passionate fans, we are one of the most passionate fans about and that's why you get so many people with high expectations, it's just cos they love the club so much they just get a bit too involved.

But if you don't like it then I guess I'll see you walking up and down the isles smacking people.
