His scoring record is very poor - 1 every 10 games. I had hoped it would improve lower down the leagues but some of his finishing has been shocking. He needs to do better (as does Sharp)
I think Sharp is taking too much stick for the other night. He and JCR were our only threats ,and I know he missed a couple of chances ,but thats what strikers do ,he is making himself available ,getting in positions and making chances which is the main thing. On another night he would have been the hat trick hero ,the muppets in defence and midfield did him no favours either. He will be Ok and get around 25 goals this season I reckon.

Yup. He had a bad night but still put in a shift. I like strikers who get in goal scoring positions, even if they miss a few more than they should. The alternative is far worse....

One caveat to that: some times chances are harder to convert than they look, but that was a terrible penalty. The miss cost us a point.Sharp of course knows this and has said so.

And as Sammon is proving, whilst getting in position is important, being able to hit the target is the key thing.

Its all about guessing and second guessing ,in his position you probably think the keeper is thinking surely he wont go in the same place again and if it had gone in we wouldn't be having this discussion. However as you said ,he says he didn't catch it right either.

Lies, damn lies and statistics

34 league goals in the 122 league games that he has started over his career. Better than 1 in 4.

We know we are in the market for new players but 93 day loans take us only to 18th December.

With a 33.33% lose ratio and 14 games between now and the 18th, that could be 5 more games lost?

Act now and cover games after the 18th with players we have now or those returning.

Acting now could see us with 15 points more than not acting now.

If it hadn't failed in the past I'd say fair enough but there is history there that proves what we have doesn't work.

Only if you count Scotland and leave out his sub appearances. His record in England - the recent seasons - is poor.

i'm fascinated to see what happens at Bradford.. if we play well i'm convinced it is a home thing.. it isn't the fans fault but some of the players look a bit intimidated IMO.. we need to find out how Leicester got their amazing atmosphere on sunday

I think I can help with that:-
Nine wins (now ten) and one defeat in the last 13 (now 14) Premier League matches.
A top six position (now top two) in the Premier League after a miracle escape from relegation last season and a promotion the year before.

I find this quite odd. If we need players NOW, whilst the injury list is large, why would we be bothered as to when the loan ends? Are points lost at this early stage still really important as they do actually count toward the total at the end of the season? It's still 3 points for a win on Sept 14 as it is on Dec 26th.

and Colchester get their just deserts for the first half and there would be mass suicide rather than a bit of negativity. The half time gathering we always have was a seriously down beat one last night, eight of us and not a clue between us what we'd just seen. It was a first half shambles however much we improved for a spell in the second.

Good point re timing of loans and the hopes of having Done and Brayford back by then. Suppose Adkins judged that Bury and Colchester at home were easier than fixtures late December. Ah well, that's life.
