Not sure what yiou mean GB finished with fewer golds than France and less medals than Russia so my comment holds true. The other nations to which you refer are poorer than the 3 nations at the top of the medals table.

Whichever way you look at it, we were hardly 'modest' in comparison to France. Russia maybe, but not France.
