On another thread we were talking about earlier seasons, and I’d been looking at old programmes. One in particular was the Dec 29 2012 v Hartlepool, which was the Lane 150th anniversary of Sheffield FC v Hallam FC.

Anyway, I’d just been looking at all the historic photos in that special edition and then at the back I came upon this page. Was this the only time Tufty had to compete against us, and I wondered how he felt and what it was like to be a lifelong Blade and want us to lose? Can’t imagine how it feels - anybody had that experience?

United also played his Oxford the season before - again in the FA Cup, and again a 3-0 win. This one at the Lane. Jake Wright played for Oxford in both

How many times have we played a Warnock team, and Port Vale with Mickey at the helm, I would imagine on that day they want the team they are managing to win and the love for United is shelved for a day.

By the same token, I wonder if they have gone out to get a result versus the wendy? Warnock I would imagine would fire his teams up to play them, Chris I would think would just see it as another game and want the team he was manager of to win regardless, but with us he approached it differently knowing what it was like from all perspectives.
