To be fair i dont think the news killa is going in january is new news to anyone, were just a selling club and always will be. Just keep the fans there with false promises and lies. Iv been going to matches since i was 3 and this is the first season i can honestly say im starting to think i could be spending my money on something more worth while, i cant get that same feeling as before and its all thanks to the mccabe and blackwell show. I could understand selling Naughton and evan could get over walker going with the fact we got him back on loan, but he has ripped the heart of the team apart and unfortunatly with the two of them in charge i dont see us moving forward just back... sorry for the rant but im gutted because it looks like the good times have now gone.

The only same old, is the fact that we can't force players to want to stay other than offering what we can afford.
Sad fact is, there are a number of teams better placed to give the players what they want.
Same for everyone but the ones at the very top of the pile.
Whoever was in charge, the situation would be the same, as it would with plenty of other clubs.
Do you seriously think that sacrificing the big screen would allow us to compete in money terms with the premier league clubs interested or enable us to sufficiently compensate for not being able to guarantee premier league football?

you see this is it i aint a knocker and united is my team and no matter how mad i am ill be there at scunny and blackpool and every other match this season... BUT by the sounds of things and im not the only one whos said this, it seems to me this has been set up very well to get a offer for killa in january, first 12 weeks ago blackwell says we will be having talks with killa in the near future a week ago killa comes out and says hes been offered nothing, then all of a sudden it looks like hes not going to be offered anything at all so whats blackwells plan, out of the 4 defenders we had at the end of last season 1 will be left after this season, unfortunatly i feel although i think what mccabes done for the club is great his sights are now to much on the financial side and we will suffer because of this.

Can't understand what you are so upset about to be honest. To me it makes perfect sense to sell him. Would you sooner take 2 mill for him now or nothing at the end of the season. He wants to play premiership football and we can't offer him that. He's a goner. Even the most optimistic Unitedites (I am one of them) are seriosuly doubting that KB can take us to the promise land. Hence why would Killgallon sign for us. Get rid and cash in on him in January.

Look what we did with Jamie Ward. We offered Chesterfield a decent amount for a player who wanted to leave and move to a bigger club. Chesterfield couldn't fight it, it's just a merry-go-round of players.
Even if we did get into the Premier League and match the likes of Wigan, Bolton etc who are looking at Killa. What would we do if the likes of ManUre or Arsenal came knocking?
Would anybody consider Tottenham a selling club? They're up near the top and look like a brilliant side this year. But in past years their best players have all wanted moves to the top 4. Berbatov and Carrick spring to mind.
It also happens to the big 4 too. Ronaldo wanted to go to Real so ManUre couldn't stop him but made a decent profit on him. Adebayor obviously wanted more money so he went to Man City, same with Tevez.

Spadge - I totally agree with your sentiment but when you say 'I think what McCabe has done for the club is great' can you specify exactly what you mean please? Are you saying he has done more for SUFC than your average chairmen at other clubs?
I assume you are referring to the brilliant 02/03 and 05/06 seasons plus most of the Premiership season. I hope you are not referring to an office block, a hotel or a huge loan plus interest.

no im saying has a business united are second to none off the field were moving boundries but unfortunatly as every blade knows that isnt what we want. We want to be in the premiership fighting against the big boys not having to travel ipswich, plymouths and scunthorpes and i dont think mccabe gives a flying f**k i think he realises that if we go up hes going to after spend and if the worst happens and we come back down hes going to have huge hole in his pocket. he doesnt live in a tax free country for the sake of it does he. Hes a money man and unfortunatly i think thats took him away from what the fans want.
No, just that we're not a Premier League club and therefore can't afford to match the wages being offered by Premier League clubs.

problem is by the sounds of things killa jsut wants a contract what he thinks hes worth and united aint evan offering him one, so how do we know whether hell stay or not, unfortunatly its the same old united as soon as we see a bit of money its good bye, happened with deane, fjortoft the two kyles and beattie ( this the p;layer that public came out and said he wanted to stay for the reast of his career but was pushed out, the same player that mccabe came on and said we wouldnt sell).

A players who's agent was constantly asking for a new contract despite him having nearly 2 years left on it.
If he wanted to stay for the rest of his career why did he just wait till the end of the season like the club asked? Why didn't he tell his agent to lay off?
Why didn't he turn down Stoke, it wasn't as if he wasn't going to play week in week out?
Same goes for Killa, do you honestly believe the club hasn't started talking about a new contract? The simple fact is if he wants over £25,000 we aren't going to pay it, because we can't. If he is asking for that level of money then we are right to try and sell him in January and get some money back.
What about the trial players who we couldn't sign with no premier teams in for them? I know the agents will have said they wanted more, but if they have no other clubs offering for them, surely it can't be too much extra??

Its starting to look a lot more likely that he'll now leave.
I'm disappointed on two fronts, firstly that Killa wants to leave and went on Sky Sports to intimate this. In the interview (admittedly it was probably edited) he made no reference to wanting to play in the PL with the Blades, he called us 'Sheffield', but just went on about his personal ambitions. Some players are about themselves, some are team players. I'm starting to think Killa is a little less of a Blade than I thought.
Secondly, the club. Not Blackwell. Why did the club not tie him down long term in the summer? Or sell him then? I have the feeling that there would've been a car park scenario if we'd have sold Killa as well. Plus would the likes of Ched have come and would Walker have come back on loan as well?
It sounds like the club and Killa are poles apart, so unless there's an extroadinary turn around then he's gone.
Unfortunately, the excuses from the BDTBL summer sale won't wash this time. We made more than enough from the Kyles and haven't exactly pushed the boat out in the onfield procurement department.
To replace Killa we'll need to be either very lucky and get a bargain or we'll need to spend 2million plus wages and agents fees to get someone. IF we get someone.
Selling club or not, we need to start putting ourselves into a stronger position.
Example Shawcross at Stoke is being linked with Liverpool etc, Stoke's response - Give him a long term deal. Our response would be to allow his contract to run down and sell him on the cheap.
All this isn't new. We lost our bargaining power with both Brown and Jags in recent years

sorry guys all this financial stuff is a load of crap we have the biggest average gate that we,ve ever had in the championship we must be making good money on a home day, we have a tiny squad full of loan players that we don't pay full wages for, McCabe is balancing the books so it looks like we make good money so he can sell us on he wanted us in the Premier League but we didn't stay so got us a big name boss hense the Robson appointment so he could tell all his big time mate in Geneva and china look we have an ex england captain as boss doesn't matter that he was a crap manager with an average history. He is now bored doesn't think we can get back in the Premier league after last may so is cashing in on good players like Kyles and killa he will sell killa at the last minute in january so we have no time for a replacement except loans. We are building the team up of average players on small wages like davies and fortune. Its a good job our captain loves the club and isn't on big money or he would have been gone to. I'm getting fed up of this bullshit that comes for blackwells mouth nothing comes of any targets were rumoured to get or they take ages to go through we were linked with Mcsheffrey weeks ago and still are. Sorry to go on and on but all we hear is excuses from blackwell about finances we should be making good money.

Don't be fooled by an average gate. Me, my sister and 2 kids are season ticket holders. It costs abut £600 per season, for 4 of us. That might an extreme, but when you consider 20,000 paying (let's say) £250 per year each raises only £5M. Then you have players demanding (let's say) 40K per week, £2M per year.
Should we pay it? Absolute madness.

what annoys me is the fact that other teams far below us who arnt suppost to be in the good financial situation we are, keep the players look at joe ledley for cardiff the could have got a good price for him but no they went and spent instead and got chopra in, we are a selling club and we dont seem to have any ambition. blackwell came out befor the transfer window shut and said were two players short he then ended up getting rid of 6 and bringing 2 in wheres the maths, all about cutting corners and money at this club and its gettin depressing, then theres the, well we wanted camara but his agent wanted 75k and where not playing them games, what games thats football every team plays them games its all spin.
Let's not forget though that the club use this large average support to get better money from the sponsors. Given that we get more people in to see the sponsors' advertising, we can charge more for it. So attendance does have a bearing on our finances. If you don't believe it, have a look at what Fatty Strafford is saying over on the Pigs board.
How is it that everything the management say is gospel, and anything anyone else says is bollocks?
I like McCabe but I'm not naive enough to think that everything he says is the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Maybe you miss understood the point when i say financial stuff i mean that as an excuse be used. it needs average gate of 22,000 for united to break even and we are well above that surely you don't believe we are struggling to pay wages we don't pay them in washers we pay them with ticket sales and the huge amount recouped from transfers there is no way with all the money brought in through players sold we are struggling for money

im just fed up with hearing the same old shit from our club about where going to sign players where not a selling club weve offered a contract to so and so... in the end it always goes wrong, youve now got blackwell stating poverty that our squad is depleted cos of injuries and weve got no options cos of the loanees, right i no the injurys are just a bad bit of luck but the fact our squad isnt big enough and how many loanees we have is one mans fault n his only as stated above we needed two players at least acording to blackwell before we got rid of 6 so...
