Blackwell's comments after the Scunny game were just another example of him flapping around and saying things which i'm sure on reflection he'd rather he didn't say.
He said words to the effect that there are seven players who played yesterday who won't be with us in a few weeks but if i was one of those players I wouldn't worry too much about trying too hard and risking injury if in Blackwell's mind he's already decided that they're going.
Take the lad Connolly, I've only seen him in the home games but from what I can see he seems like a decent steady right back and a much better option on the right hand side to what Taylor & Stewart are on the left. If he's heard what Blackwell's said it must a bit of a blow for him. He's played four games on the trot after being frozen out at Derby but in a few weeks he'll be 'dreading Saturday's' again (his own words on his weekendphobia pre his loan stint here).
I would be massively in favour of Blackwell banning himself from post match interviews, or atleast till the next day as I think during the week he comes across ok, but after the games he sounds so stressed and defensive. Added to the fact that most United fans are now sick to death of hearing his voice, it seems counter productive.
