God's country ...... Rovrum!
What was the issue with Blackpool's goal? I've seen it played back about 3 times but couldn't see an issue with it

Apparently, Hecky was frustrated by the goal and basically said it shouldn't have stood and even went into the ref's room after the final whistle

I think they thought it should have been a throw-in instead. Wasnt mentioned on Sky though, no complaints from me other than the defending

He's not the same level of mardy bum as Wilder, so I was surprised by this from Hecky. The throw-in was all I could think of but hey-ho, let's just suck it up and carry on!

Not sure if there was a foul on the front post as well.

Certainly was. Norwood was off the ground and just about to clear the corner at the front post, when the Blackpool number 2 just jumped into Norwood and pushed him in the back, causing him to inadvertently flick it on rather than clear it.

Clear foul.

Norwood was pushed in the back when he jumped to clear the corner at the front post, instead of clearing it, it turned into a flick onto madine at the back post.
Could have been a foul on another day.
We keep grinding out results!

When opposition fans moan about decisions going against them I say you have to accept it and get on with the game.

Exactly the same applies to us. If the ref gives a corner you have to defend it properly whether or not it was the right decision.

No complaints from me.

Meanwhile I'm sure there will have been no defenders hanging on to attackers in the box.

If Norwood was fouled we should still have defended the second ball better.

I immediately thought it was offside but certainly wasn't. Didn't really see much issue with it, I'm sure with VAR searching for every possible angle to find a thumb offside or a ball over out of play 15 minutes ago we might have kept a clean sheet but we didn't

Don't see the need to go in to the office and complain. Shame for Wes to not keep a clean sheet but we still walked away with the points.

And if the other option is VAR taking five minutes to find innocuous infringements, I’ll happily accept the odd decision going against us.

I agree with your sentiments, and I hate VAR as much as anyone, but this was a very obvious foul to me. I get that there is no way that the officials can spot all of the shitcuntery going on in the box at corners, but this was a clear shove in the back as he went up unopposed to clear a routine header. You have to seriously wonder what the officials were looking at to not see this. I am not too bothered about throw ins or corners going the wrong way, as if you defend properly, it isn't a problem. However in this case, Norwood does do his job, and is in the perfect position to clear the ball, when he is clearly pushed several feet forward whilst in mid-air. I actually gave myself a headache, shouting at the referee during this game. Blackpool were constantly jumping into the man every time they pumped the ball forward. There was another blatant one when Clark was clearly dragged down as he attempted a routine clearance, which lead to a shot on goal. I am generally, in favour of referees letting stuff go, but the number of times he gave them free kicks whenever Poveda overran the ball and did his dying swan impersonation, compared to times he allowed our players to be swung round by the tits was farcical.

I couldn't believe their goal stood because of the foul on Norwood but in real time it may not have been as clear cut as it obviously was on repeat. Not sure where the ref is positioned but it certainly shouldn't have stood, I was fuming last night but we won that's all that matters!

The only reason Blackpool ‘kinda’ came back into the game was cos the ref allowed it. Wasn’t through playing football. That’s the frustration for Hecky and the boys. He’s (ref) is one of the worst and that’s saying something. He probably felt like he had a good game. No cards just plenty of talking to’s. The problem is the players don’t give a shit what the ref has to say, they just keep fouling until the card is shown. The sooner refs wake up to this the better… unfortunately they believe their own hype.

Corners are looking like lineouts did in rugby, with too much going on to be able to officiate it. Furious has is arms round someone every time we defend one, with Clarke's shirt ripped off last week for example and Maguire pulled down for England v Iran. You could pick 3 penalties and 2 defence free kicks on each one.

So Norwood is fouled and the goal shouldn't have stood but that's ok.
Just do away with officials and let whatever happens happen .
No complaints.

Very unusual for Hecky to grumble about referee like this.

Have to disagree sorry. The refs that constantly talk to the players are the most effective.
But the ref last night was useless even though he talked.

Definitely the ref gave them all the 50/50s

The players just think ‘got away with it again’ and then continue to push the boundaries. Players jump on weak refs.
