Well...............

What can be said about todays "performance".
If anyone can give me a person who put a performance in today then I'll be very surprised.

Lets face it, it was never a penalty. I don't think it was a free kick for their goal. I don't think the referee had a good day at the office all in all. But at least it was the same both ways.

I missed the foul for the penalty, and wasn't sure about the free kick for their goal, but random Norton drinker who said he was in line with the incidents said both were spot on. He had a better view than me, so I'll take his word for it.

Beattie missed a penalty, Armstrong missed a free header and Hendrie smashed a shot wide which was easier to score. Atrocity? Yes very much so.

Not far wrong.

Blackpool didn't look like scoring, so Lucketti thought he would fuck about in defence and lose the ball. Then give away a free kick that went in to the middle of the net, where Kenny was we shall never know.

It took a deflection.

The crowd pissed me off more than anyone today though, fucking idiots on the Kop who clearly know NOTHING about football was booing when we took off Sharp, who ran a lot but did absolutely nothing of note. The crowd go on to sing "you don't know what you're doing" and "we want Bryan Robson out" only 50 minutes after they was singing "Robson give us a wave"..... retarded fucking morons like this remind me why I prefer away games to home.

As you said before though, nobody had a 'performance' yesterday, so taking off a player who at the very least showed interest, and probably needs a couple of matches to get some confidence, was never going to go down well. Lest it be forgotten, it was Billy who moved wider to set up Keef's delicious defence splitting pass, and Billy who crossed it perfectly for Beattie to score.

Back to the game. We take Beattie off, I don't know why but I'm assuming he has an injury and bring on Hulse when clearly Stead should have been put on. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Hulse, but why he comes on before a fully fit Stead I shall never know.

Beats had just taken a bit of a knock, hadn't he? Inclined to agree about the Stead/Hulse thing though. That said, it would be nice if we actually played with wingers, instead of <random midfielder> peeling wide (slowly) in the final third of the field.

Robson is driving this club further and further downhill. The signing of Speed is fantastic, but in my opinion it is far too little far too late.

Apologies for the swearing, and anybody who reads my posts on a whole know I barely ever swear in them, but certain occasions require certain obscenities.

I agree about Sornob and Speed too.

The most worrying things for me yesterday however were that although we were much the better side, we still didn't impose ourselves on them, and the way heads went down after the equaliser was a disgrace. We might have had a bucketful of chances after the equaliser, but we had the look of a pub side, rather than that of a side expected to challenge for promotion to the top flight of English football.

for some reason every one of the players could not keep the ball down when it came to them (shooting wise) think i lost count of how many times that ball was soaring over the kop

Too true. It would be interesting to know whether Robson's advice on shooting is either to get as many attempts as possible, because sooner or later some will be on target, or just to try and kill as many people in row Z as they can hit.
