Blackman or Moore?

From a more outside perspective as iv not seen the lads as much as you guys have. I'd go with moore, There's not much between the two, and if there's not much between them you should always go with your own as they are our asset. If Blackman was miles better id say him, But thinking of the future (unless it looks like we could keep Jamal beyond this year) moore should be favoured unless his standards drop.

Blackers, for me. Just like Fleck, Couttsy & Billy came straight back in after their short absences, so should Jamal - he's been that good.

Btw, happy to give Moore the benefit of the doubt on Grosicky's wobbly shot, as with Blackman on the drop at QPR. We're lucky to have them both.

Always thought that the hardcore "Jamal's an error waiting to happen" crew were setting impossibly high standards which Moore would never be able to live up to. And, meanwhile, other highly rated goalies around the league - Ruddy, Bentley, Lonergan - really are making errors (as goalies do from time to time).

I think some fans haven’t warmed to him because he’s a laid back, confident lad who doesn’t always acknowledge the fans and seems to be very relaxed about everything.

For some reason some find this unnerving and think he should be barking orders to his defenders all the time. I don’t think he needs to and it’s clear the defenders in front of him trust him, and as the OP points out, hasn’t really put a foot wrong.

For games he has played in, we have the joint best defensive record in the league so we are in safe hands with him.

Blackman for me. He is the better keeper in my view (Moore's a decent stopper too but there have been instances in the past where I've thought he could have done better there..)

Happy for Lord Wilder to make the decision but if Blackman's fit for Burton and hes only missed the 1 game, then he should get the nod again. If Moore had come in and done well for say 6 games or so then I would be saying it's his shirt to lose.

Chelsea won’t sell him but he’s never going to be a Courtois, he isn’t that good. For the good of his career I hope he decides to jump ship at the end of the year like Nathaniel Chalobah did this summer.

I prefer Blackman,although nothing against Moore.
I just like that Blackman comes for crosses,and generally prefer a big Keeper with presence.
Moore did look a bit nervous Saturday,but great last season and i like that he's vocal...not keen he stays on his line a lot though,but happy with either to be fair.

Chelsea won’t sell him but he’s never going to be a Courtois, he isn’t that good. For the good of his career I hope he decides to jump ship at the end of the year like Nathaniel Chalobah did this summer.

He signed a new contract with them before he joined us so I doubt he'll be leaving. If we go up, Chelsea will lend him to us again but for a fee. If we don't go up they'll look to loan him to a PL club or abroad, for a fee. If there are no takers we might get to loan him again. I don't think they'll make a final decision on whether to keep him or sell him until he's played a season at top level.

Same goes for CCV.

Take it as one if you want pal. Blackman has faced 38 shots on target (some keepers have faced over 80 already), 13 of those went in, so he's stopped 25. The vast majority of them will have been comfortable so I don't see how you can compare to Moore yet when he's only had to make a handful of saves.

Commands his box well, not great at kicking. I'd say Moore is decent at both and is a better communicator.

I'm not saying Blackman is any worse than Moore, just that I haven't seen enough of him to decide. Wilder sees every day in training and will know who is the better keeper.

How many times has anyone seen Moore playing at this level? Not many I'd guess. So the comparison is between what people have seen of Moore at L1 level v what they've seen of Blackman at championship level. Which is why I'll leave it to Wilder to decide.

Where's this communication from Moore then? Sorry but he tried to save a ball off one of our defenders feet who was in the middle of clearing it at QPR, and then he didn't come for a ball that Wright was plainly leaving for him against Hull, I can't see how that's better than Jamal.

Not saying he's not a perfectly good keeper but I wouldn't say that's something you could pick him for over Blackman.

I know I know last season etc but we're in this season now and to me at least it's a no brainer to pick the keeper who's done well for us this season.

If you like, yes. As I say, I'm leaving it to Wilder. I don't mind either of them but I just haven't seen enough of Moore at this level to comment on whether or not he should be first choice.

I'm not saying he should have saved any of them. Don't really understand why you're jumping to his defence to be honest, he hasn't put a foot wrong and I haven't said he has. I'm just saying he has had to make an incredibly low number of saves because United have been so unbelievably good so far, therefore I don't think anyone can judge him to be better than Moore.

I've been to pretty much every game this season and I couldn't tell you if Blackman is any good at getting down to the bottom corners. It's not his fault, he's barely had to!

I would pick Blackman. I think he's the better keeper, I love how commanding he is. Rarely seems to make the wrong decision, his calm demeanour generally makes me feel more comfortable. I also think he has the ability to step up further, I'd also imagine we could sign him easy enough if we got promoted.

but hes very calm , but itsonly a gnat tadger better as Moore is a very good keeper , we are blessed

I like to always see a player keep the shirt for the next game, unless injured or poor form intervenes. Don't know if letting the goal in versus Hull constitutes poor form. But to drop Moore after his first full league game of the season would be a poor decision in my opinion.

Blackman is number 1 when fit no contest. One is suspect with shots straight at him from distance the other isn't. Other teams have sussed it re Hull's goal and the free kick they had 2nd half to test him. Wish them both well but Moore needs to work on long distance shots straight at him, check out away at Walsall and a few others. What saved us on Saturday and gave us a platform to win was limiting them to very few shots.

Jamal is 23 and a keeper has around 14 years from that point. Would be a perfectly good quota filler for them.
