I don't blame Wilder for looking to pick up quality footballers who have lost their way in the game. As long as the deal is a cheap punt for us and doesn't involve any significant risks then why not? If it comes off then great! If not, no big deal really. I wouldn't want it to be our main recruitment strategy - but it isn't - so no concerns from me.

I do think there are parallels with the Rodwell and Morrison signings - although Morrison came with a reputation of being more of an incurable serial offender. If Rodwell is fit and his attitude is right then he should be a big asset to the club. As for Morrison...well, yes, I did read what Wilder said about him earlier last month and also back in October of last year. My take on Wilder's comments is that he's reluctant to criticise Morrison, but Morrison obviously isn't doing enough to warrant a place in the first team squad, never mind starting 11. I honestly can't see this situation prevailing beyond the end of this month. If Morrison is going to continue to make a living from football then he needs to be playing competitive football and he's not going to get that here. I think it's out on loan and then bye-bye for Morrison. And that won't be a bad example to set for the likes of Rodwell and any others who may be joining us.

Work hard, have the right attitude, do well and you've got a chance.
