He got a standing ovation and cheers. One of the funniest things I’ve seen at a match, Linighan must have been wondering what was going on at first as would the Arsenal fans until the penny dropped.

I remember it as him being with Norwich myself.

I thought he was at QPR by then have I remembered wrong?

He was at Norwich before he went to Arsenal. I think that for the game at the Lane he was playing for QPR (on loan from Palace).

He came on a sub and he quickly cottoned on to why thousands were chanting "Andy Andy Andy Linighan..." (the Bobby Davison tune). The look of bemusement on his teamates was priceless. Every time he got near the ball the chants went up and he was hearity applauded off at the end.
He seemed to be quite enjoying it, as were all of us lot.

You can imagine confused teamates asking 'you didn't play for this lot did you?'.
