He shouldn't have any more money, he's just pissed it all away. We need a someone above him who know what we need and to buy players we actually need even if they aren't british or a blade. If you think his substitutions are bad, just give him another £20 million to spend and see how it works out.
Too high all game against blistering paceRodwell may make the bench on Sunday I think.
Basham's work rate was needed in midfield and I think it was also sensible to keep Ampadu in the holding role, where he did well. With hindsight maybe Wilder would have tried Osborn, but he may have thought it would make us a bit light weight against the likes of Matic and Pogba.
Jags wasn't the main one to blame for the first half goals that turned the game. Our defensive line was too high on both occasions.
Substitutions have always been the gaffer’s biggest weakness. He’s surpassed himself tonight, though.
Jags barely gets any games at all but he now makes it 3 games out of 3 v Man U - arguably the quickest strike force in the league.
You couldn’t make it up...
He will be son.Love Jagielka, but he's long past PL standard, would be a decent mid-to-lower Championship CB.
I said at the time, the obvious sub to make was Norwood on to CM, move Basham RCM and put Ampadu at RCB.
You'd still have the overlap then too.
The likely reason Wilder didn't go for that is that he didn't think Norwood would be able to compete and keep up with the likes of Fernandes and Pogba.
This is part of the equation. It's clear the defence was weaker, and we can say that partly cost us the goals. On the other hand having Bash making midfield better will also have minimised the potential hammering.Basham is probably our best midfielder at the moment.
I’d definitely rather see him there than Berge. And I’d change to 442 to accommodate. This is part of the equation. It's clear the defence was weaker, and we can say that partly cost us the goals. On the other hand having Bash making midfield better will also have minimised the potential hammering.

Yes. I think he may have been worried about our midfield being a bit light weight against the likes of Matic and Pogba though.Or put Osborn in for Berge. He would at least give us energy in midfield still.
