Why do sections of our support seem to think Warnock is either interested in, or capable of this father figure mentor role? Or that we need him to do it? When he was a manager he wouldn't have wanted it and he's far too self centred to do anything productive and not demand credit for it and anything else positive from the flavour of the pies or the colour of the grass.

It's not a fans forum, it's 5 minutes after we'd sunk to the bottom of the league (yep, they really are the Milwall stands :)) Did you really see a man following a script?

Or did you join in with those so frothing at the mouth at the minute that they heard a man saying "no new signings", when he didn't even say that?

I can't believe they posted it yesterday. On Sunday, fine, but something like that several days later. Instead of a fresh interview. I think you may be right about the ulterior motives. I wonder if Kev has been visiting any London hotels recently.

I was generalising I don't do frothing at the mouth about somat that won't happen.

Warnock thinks Warnock . He ain't capable , good enough , focused enough , or interested enough . He would be a disaster with a low boredom threshold , with offering financial blackmail , and I like the fella. Warnock fuck him.

I can't help but like the guy and I'm convinced he'll do well for us. Just needs that bit more time and backing which to be fair he's getting from the board as far as I can see bringing in 8 players, but its not as easy as it was for Clough, when the board were looser with the purse strings.

Think that's harsh mate. He's not going to be happy 30 minites after a defeat that was totally self inflicted and deep down he probably wanted to say what the hell was O'Connell doing, but he can't because thats hardly good for morale is it! Wilder's made of strong stuff, he proved that last season in awful circumstances at Northampton.

You're a player, playing for SUFC, being managed by Wilder.

The difference between last season at NTFC and SUFC now..
he was on a win/win scenario.

No money, but still walked the L2. Fantastic. Sensational.
No money, but did the best they could under the exceptional circumstances. No problems.

SUFC... change the mentality of the club's players, the playing style, clear out the deadwood, bring in a new set of players, work under financial constraints (not zero constraints), supporters base is 3x+ more than NTFC, you're an ex player, a supporter, this is your dream job...

Now you're managing a club that a decade ago were playing at Old Trafford, Anfield, Emirates... the expectations of the supporters are to return there as soon as possible, but don't forget, you have to get out of L1 first... and that's been tried by managers who have managed in this League before, a decade ago you were at Alfreton Town..

No pressure Mr Wilder... no pressure at all.

Wish I got paid what he does to do interviews. It's hardly wiping shitty arses or having to do a tour of Afganistan is it?

Bloody hell, yesterday it was hard being a young player in front of 17k fans now it's tough being a manager answering a few questions.

Tomorrow, being Kevin McCabe, how tough it is rolling around in the Copthorn hotel on your Blades duvet made entirely from the skin of former managers.
