I've yet to purchase my Charlton tickets, but at 11.52 today I received a confirmation email from SUFC saying;

"Thank you for purchasing ticket (s) for Sheffield United v Charlton Athletic.

Your seat details are K / AD / 0058-0062

You can purchase tickets either in person via telephone on 0871 995 1889 or online at www.sufc.talent-sport.co.uk

Logged on to my SUFC account and sure enough there are records of 5 tickets which have been purchased in my name.

I've checked my online banking and no money has left my accounts. Perhaps someone has just used my name to get a ticket and not told me? Any ideas or has anything similar happened to anyone here?

Cheers

Looks like someone gave your number or someone in the ticket office entered their number incorrectly as yours.... Probably worth a call :)

Cheers Foxy, my thoughts too. Don't suppose they'll open tomorrow, so will ring Monday morn!

Long shot, but have you ever linked your account to any friends? If you have then they have the option to buy your ticket and might have done it accidentally.
I did this when purchasing tickets for Wembley play off final and when I log on to buy ticket online it automatically defaultsto buy all 3 tickets.

Bobby

They must just know how loyal you are and they have pre-empted you buying tickets cos you are such a good fan!

I've bought my tickets, and expected just to use my pass as per the other cup games, but they've sent me separate tickets. Not sure why...

Just as an aside to this, I have just bumped into an old friend from school this lunchtime in the co-op, and he told me that he had problems logging in. When he did, his seat had been given away BEFORE the 12 noon Saturday deadline. Something isn't quite right somewhere.

Hmmm, maybe. I'll ask around. Main thing is no money has left my account! Hopefully all will be revealed tomorrow.

Unlikely someone has stolen them, they'd be sent to your address. Someone probably put in the wrong number at the ticket office.

I nearly did this. Went into my account to buy 3 tickets against my STs and there was another number there. I first assumed it was my daughter's number, who just comes occasionally, then realised it was a number I didn't recognise. Obviously from an earlier transaction, when I'd given my number to someone else when I wasn' t going to the game.

The way the system works, you have to approve someone to buy tickets on your behalf. So if you've any dodgy numbers showing in your account, then another Blades has put your number in the Friends & Family section on their account.

Not anymore Linz.

If you know their customer number, surname and post code you can just add them now. They don't need to approve this anymore.

Obviously in the OP's case, if this has been done, it is by someone who knows him/her.

I bought two childrens and two adult tickets, for Bristol City and an Everton under 18 ticket at the box office on the night of the Everton game. I paid for everything together, then realised that he'd only given me one adult and one child for the Bristol game. Went back immediately and told the lad and he then gave me the other tickets, but then charged me again.!!

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and so left the Ticket office a bit puzzled. Eventually I realise what had happened and intended to contact the Ticket office during the week, but never did, my fault, so put it down to experience.
Fast forward to Charlton and again went to the Ticket Office. Same lad as before. I asked if I was entitled to a concession as I've just turned 60, offered my passport as evidence which he said wasn't necessary. He then charged for the full whack ! I challenged him and he backed off and gave me the concessionary price.

I don't know whether I'm being paranoid but the lad wasn't initially at the window, but when I was at the front of the queue he suddenly appeared. In fact the lad wasn't very polite and chewed gum all the way through our interaction. He had an air of not wanting to be there.

May have been genuine mistakes but who knows. I realise how paranoid this sounds

Be careful
