Both Bradshaw & Sawyers flogged for less than the 1.2 we've apparently (allegedly?) declined for CA
Jed Wallace is a good call – we already have a shirt for him.
So we rebuff current bids & flog him for next to nowt in 2 years time ?But Sawyers was out of contract this summer and Bradshaw was entering his final year. No suprise both went for less really

But they refused the bids last January ........ even though you just can't turn down bids .....
But we have !
No ...... we "grow a pair" and flog him for what we decide we want for him .......
Is that what Walsall did or was the outcome actually:
player(s) depart any road
less brass
same division (with a weaker team)
Albeit with the consolation of testicular enhancement.
NB "growing a pair" can also be equally described as dropping a bollock
He played once in the League Cup.& Dean Hammond turned out for the PL champions last Season!
Aye, but the fact remains. He played once in the League Cup.
My initial point was that they haven't. They've paid roughly what you'd expect for a striker of his age and with his record. It's a lot of money but there are quite a few deals where similar players have gone to top end championship clubs.Aye, but the fact remains.
The initial point was that Mags overpaid for Gayle, -we clearly over payed for Hammond.
Just because they're at a P/L club doesn't mean they're worth (any) coin.
Admit Gayle is better than Hammond but that's damning him with faint praise indeed

I believe they were out of contract this summer so therefore Walsall couldn't stop them going. They held onto them in the hope that they would be promoted .... they got to the play offs.
Dack is still at Gillingham I believe ?

saw on teletext last night that dack is having a medical at rotherham unitedBradshaw had a year left. Sawyers was out of contract. We turned down decent bids for both of them in January, in the hope we'd go up. They'd both most probably have stayed if we'd gone up, Bradshaw particularly. Their main ambition was to play in the Championship.
The Bradshaw fee was fair considering he only had a year left, and handed in a transfer request.
Dack is still at Gillingham, but they've lost Egan to Brentford. 5 long weeks to go yet before the end of the window - most business will be done late on, after the PL and Championship clubs have got their signings in, and deciding who will be sold or go out on loan.

Sawyers went for nowt
Their hope of going up didn't materialise - if we are judging teams by their ability to get into play offs we'd still have Bassett or Kendall or Thompson or Warnock or Blackwell or Wilson or Clough in charge.
Dack IS still @ Gillingham - for now, although they have openly stated he is for sale - not going to a lot of time to replace him or invest any money they got for him.
The point is, these examples only evidence that hanging on to players ("stopping them going") achieved SFA
Is it being suggested that keeping Che will get us up (or even into the play offs) ?
