Birch says we need to stick together

Birch needs to fook off and free his wage up then maybe we could have got some good players in!!

I have never seen us so united and sticking together, to a person we think the players are useless overpaid gobshites and McCabe has ruined the club and is totally responsible for the mess we are in. I'm sure this is what birch meant.

Hang on a second lads I think you're been incredibly harsh to old Tricky Trev, since his appointment we have seen some seriously major highs and it's time like these that you should stop and think about them for a second.

A 28% win record since his appointment
4 different first team managers
An aggressive approach to Manager handling, given all summer to build a squad only to sack him 2 games later
The biggest loss EVER reported by Sheffield United for a financial year
Excellent signing's such as Nyron Nosworthy WITHOUT the option of him been taken or given back
The loan signing's... who needs a stable balanced squad when you borrow other peoples players, I mean the guy is a revolutionary
It looks more likely that we will be playing in a new league next season, we're surprising a lot of people here including ourselves
Developing strong links with our sister clubs to bring in excellent signing's such as.....
The appointment of Richard Battho, which for my money is bizarre! Any true professional content in his own ability does not need this

Tongue in cheek comments of course but I do think the message he is giving out is right. Let's stick together and if come the end of the season we're playing in L1 then is the time to start pulling this all apart. We're not going to change the manager, we're not going to change the Chief Executive or Chairman at this stage so let's all just get on with it.

This article would have been better coming from Adams, even if the words of Tricky Trev!

I don't want to hear from McCabe or Tricky until the end of the season. We are well and truly fucked so let us and the players get on with it.

Woah we may have a loan signing for them to announce early and then the deal fall through.

Lets not kick them in to touch totally til the end of the season.

When all us long suffering fans are suffering league1 will the powers that be help us stick together more by reducing season tkt prices?

It's doable, but the quid pro quo is a reduction in wage bill. So long as that's made explicit, a debate can then be had.

How would people feel @same price with a refund of £xxx per adult if promotion not achieved? As a concept.

Personally speaking, not kindly. Partly because I don't expect promotion if we get relegated (without big investment), and partly because it's a theoretical disincentive to the fans to do their bit.

Others may disagree - it's worth airing.

Hold on a cotton-pickin' minute! There have been loads of messages on this site in the recent past saying that the club doesn't communicate with the fans. Birch has come out with a perfectly reasonable statement, and this is the response.

I see that Adams has also come out with a statement this afternoon.

Some so-called 'fans' don't want to listen to anything but their own voices.

No. In fact not reducing ST prices considerably could mean less revenue for the club.

Having thousands more fans in the ground cos ST are cheaper does not necessarily equate to a slashed wage bill at all.

BUt having less fans and a shrinking fanbase that you may not be able to get back in a couple of years does have major implications for the future of the club.

Hopefully the club are finally awake to this after last year's ST debacle and are working on some sensational and imaginative ST offers to get 20,000 ST holders next season - though I doubt it.

Having read the piece, it's entirely reasonable. I did shudder when I read that the board think Micky has enough at his disposal to save us, but then he goes on to say they're looking into more loans.

Obviously they're looking to strengthen but cannot say the current lot are beyond hope. :)

It's an old argument, but I disagree. The way to have kept last year's season ticket levels would have been to sack Blackwell and announce a new club philosophy last April, not September.

Afraid to say, I think the only thing that would keep season ticket sales up this year will be a takeover and major investment. As I see it, dropping prices a bit will only save a few from stayawayitis. And dropping prices a lot will cost money that McCabe is no longer willing to lend us.

As it stands pal I think we'd be lucky to break 10k season tickets next season never mind 20k

Perhaps if we paid the players what they are worth and not what they think they are worth then perhaps we would have money to add to the squad and still keep Season Tickets prices stable.
Whatever we are are paying Messrs Maestro Monty, Quinn, Cresswell, Evans, Simonsen,Yeates, Boggy,Taylor, France, Henderson, Calve, Ertl, Nosworthy and Co is far too much!
Not a footballer amongst them all!
No backbone, no guts, no passion and most of all no talent!

He should have been advised not to say anything and leave it to Micky. Tricky Trev is part of the problem we have here. What does that guy actually do, and he isn't even a fan to come out and say we should all stick together. To come out after the transfer window has shut and say it's going to be difficult to get loans in is taking the piss some what.

PS don't call me a so call fan again

Stop acting like a so called fan then.

There's too much bullshit being spread on this forum in the last few days. We're our own worst enemy, we really are.

Read like a statement of a club's that already given up.
Action is needed, not waffle about how difficult it is to get players in.

I'm really struggling to see what's wrong with what he's said here. We're all hurting and we do want someone to blame. But we can piss and moan all we like on here, when it comes to Saturday we need to be totally united.

I did raise a smile at the bit about everyone working hard. Has he seen Jamie Ward lately?

UTB

Exactly alco. What he's essentially said is that people acting like kids and starting threads like this is really not very helpful, and what happens before the html has had time to dry? This thread. There's too much of it on this forum lately, and to be honest, it's becoming less of a pleasure to visit.

Why is having my opinion being a so called fan. Might be alright for you living in Austria, however I actually go and watch this shit. The board have let us down massively when quality was needed in the January transfer window. MA said on numerous occasions that he would be given money if he identified someone. If he can't find anyone better than what we have right now then maybe he is not the right man. I am not the man playing Williamson on the right wing, Cresswell on the left and a back 4 consisting of Kozzy when we have a young talented lad like Lowton on the bench. Apparently we are looking towards youth yet Lowton can't get in this shower of shit. Unfreaking believable. I don't come on here and knock everything they do and I supported the signings of Bent and Doyle thinking maybe because we didn't spend money on those positions we might actually get a winger who can fucking beat a man and cross a ball.

Go pleasure yourself anther way, you look like your probably good at that

Oi Birch, been here 20 years mate, how long have you been here? Twat. Don't fucking tell me how to support my Club.

Perhaps you could give us the benefit of your 20 years' experience and tell us what Birch should have said.

More importantly, what should the fans do on Saturday to help the team secure that much-needed win?
(Let me guess - if the team doesn't score in the first 60 seconds, get on the backs of the players. Pick on a few scapegoats. If things don't improve, hurl abuse at the manager. A few choice words in the direction of the chairman and directors wouldn't hurt either. Isn't that what you usually do?).
