Ooooooh we are completely brilliant.
Forget all the apocalyptical shite we posted Friday. Changed my mind after 4 days.
Team brilliant will piss the league
Wilder - brilliant manager never doubted him.

We were shit Friday, and much better tonight. What's the problem ?

Absolutely none. The issue is with 'absolutes'; not being generally critical of a poor performance.
- Leon Clarke wants fucking off at the end of the season
- Lee Evans isn't up to this division
- Our defence isn't good enough to get us in the playoffs
- We need a new left back, Lafferty should be front of Stevens
- Fleck hasn't been any good for a few games
And so on.

Some of the bile spewed after Friday was absolutely shocking. We played shit, it doesn't mean we are shit.

The OP is mocking the hyperbole of football fans who can go from despair to euphoria in a matter of days, when the reality should be somewhere in between.
Even if that were true, why dwell on that when you can just enjoy the win instead.

We were shit on Friday and by all accounts very good today.

All I see is reactions reflecting the performances.

Seems some can't wait more than a few moments of post-win euphoria to engage and have a go at other fans who had the temerity to feel passionate about a shocking loss.

Seems a juxtaposition to immediately have a go at other fans, criticising them at the earliest opportunity for them having a go at the team at the earliest opportunity.

Again, I don't think it's a reaction to people being down about a performance, it's the insults at players (and the manager) who by and large got us promotion to this division and then got us on the cusp of the playoffs.

Perfectly understandable that someone wants to point out the daftness of that kind of behaviour.

You can be critical of a bad performance and praise a good performance.

Everyone last Friday called the team out on what was a totally shit performance and Wilder agreed.

Tonight was much better with Duffy back in the team and the players clearly had a rocket up their arse. We could and probably should have won tonight 4 or 5-1.

Its a mystery - akin to liking the OP then deciding to be critical of it and so feeling compelled to unlike it quickly so you wouldn't look daft - but not quickly enough for it to go unnoticed.

Spot on.

I agree, but most of us know that the more hyperbolic fans talk with hyperbole when upset. I certainly bring along a pinch of salt when following the Shoutbox, and more especially on the Forum after a shocking loss.

I'm surprised the OP would rather use his salt for salty comments about hyperbolic fans in the moments after the match.

Unless, of course, he also is hyperbolic who cares more about the behaviour of fans than I.

Like I said, I found it quite funny, I think that warrants a like whether it be when I agree or in this instance being amused at how someone can come up with an OP like that after a good performance.

Enjoy the win mate.

I will enjoy the win.
I got dogs abuse from some on friday when i suggested that it wasn’t the end of the world, team and manager.
I was perhaps was a bit hasty with the retort tonight.
Great performance and great win.

Never criticise the fans.

Wilder - brilliant manager never doubted him.

I have heard Wilder has docked all the team a weeks wages for going against his thoughts about the playoffs,he's seething.

Friday was by no stretch an overreaction. We really were that bad. Tonight, I don't think we were that good and I think we were let off the hook by that penalty miss.
