I might be being blind but I can't see a thread on it anywhere. Apologies if there is one.

Second half at 2-3 down. Absolutely blatant shove on Billy in the box and fuck all given (seemed to be a theme in the game).

That gets given, the whole bloody thing would've changed.

We can moan about the ref all night, but that was the one that got the Kop properly worked up, and rightly so.

Disappointing to lose but it could easily have been so different.

UTB as always.

I am also surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, I don't understand the refs thought process there at all i mean if Billy doesn't go down it is a certain goal so why would he go down? was an obvious foul and as you mentioned I don't think it was the only one he missed I think there was a couple of incidents in the box that could have been given as penaltys and the fulham players would have had nothing to complain about but poor decisions a couple of times and I also thought the linesman was shockingly bad and made quite a few wrong offside calls.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, Clarke headed it behind Sharp and he slipped as he tried to stop himself and get to the ball.

That's how I saw it at the time, but I'd like to see a replay.

I thought he just slipped.

However there was a definite push on Clarke when he went for a header in the box which should have been one, and the one on Brooks.

I was stood directly behind the goal.

They was a gentle push but Sharp was already off balance and slipped.
I think it would have been soft because it was mainly a slip in my opinion.

Blatant pen, the lad Ream played well I thought but eff me he got away with a lot

On Brooks? I can't remember that?

The Clarke one was a high ball and he was pushed into the keeper and was down for a bit? You very rarely see those given to be fair.

There'd be 10 penalties a match if some of you lot was ref!

I remember Clarke getting taken out by a defender when their keep went to claim a cross. Their defender had no intention of going for the ball.

Shortly before we got the 4th, he was in the box and two of their players sandwiched him.

The Clarke one was a pen, it was a clear push from their man with no intention of winning the ball.

Sharp slipped it was not a pen for me. The Clarke one was more of a pen but refs hardly ever give them to the attacking player and as was shown just five minutes later give identical free kicks against the attacking player for the same thing.

Being totally fair the clearest pen not given was one for Fulham in injury time.

Brooks played the ball between two of their players and looked to be through on goal until 2 of their players sandwiched him

The Brooks one he looked like he had over ran the ball and was never going to be given.

How often do you see penalties given for pushes in the box? You'll struggle to get given those.

On another day with a different ref we could have got a penalty but there were no stonewall claims tonight.

There was one where he slipped as the ball came across the 6 yard box. Was it this one?

On another occasion Hanson was dragged over by the arm in the box as he was jumping for a high ball. Anywhere else on the pitch and I’m sure we would have had a free kick but after the other shouts he was unlikely to give us anything unless it was absolutely stonewall

Apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere but there's nothing on this thread about the most blatant penalty of all on Tuesday. A minute or two into the second half a Fulham defender tried to nod/chest a through ball back to the keeper but the only contact made with the ball was by his outstretched arm. Everybody round me on the Kop saw it and appealed for it. The ref may well have been unsighted but the linesman should certainly have spotted it. It would have been a soft penalty but penalty it undoubtedly was just like Wednesday's at Ipswich last night.

Agree with almost all of that. I was certainly up on my feet appealing for a pen. I do on reflection have sympathy for the linesman - the player was facing the Kop, the ball rolled down his arm, but the linesman was on the far side of the pitch, and I don't think the player's arm would have been clearly visible to him. Now if we'd had one of those extra officials behind the goal-line who never give any decision, I would have been seriously annoyed.

So the Windies get a soft pen and should have had a player sent off early on.

CC will still be moaning about the refs.

But they'd all be for us, so what's the problem ;)

That linesman was really poor throughout. Missed Clarke being a yard offside for our 4th too.

It's about time that you lot learnt that general field rules and penalty area rules are completely different.

If they had to play to the same rules in the box as they do out of it they may as well skip the 90 minutes and just have a penalty shoot out each game.

On the plus side, we wouldn't lose as much boozing time for the footy ;)

Definitely slipped. There wasn't even a shout from John Street because it was clear as day to us! We were amused by the Kop baying for a penalty though!
