Just been watching it on the goal cam on Blades Player and I'm sure it hits the keeper on the shoulder on the way in.

Has anybody else looked at it ?

Just shows that if you hit it that hard it nearly always goes in somehow.

It definitely hit the keeper from where I was stood.

He did the right thing going down the middle though.

Wasn't one of his best, but all of the ones that go in are good penalties.

Disagree. Some shit penalties also go in.

If goalkeepers watch any videos of Billy's previous pens, they will know that he favors hitting the ball hard and on target ahead of placing it in a corner. Fair enough, and they mostly go in. But one of these days the keeper will choose not to dive and save one, or one of his shots will hit the keeper. If any of his penalties this season were to be saved (and one has), we'd be saying it was a crap pen.

Saying that, he has the balls to stand up and take them, and they are always hit with pace and on target, so you can't criticise him too much.

Shrewsbury keeper stood still and saved it back in November.

A couple of weeks after that against Walsall Billy changed tactics and hit a really pathetic one which Etheridge saved easily. That cost us our unbeaten run and a point.

I've been glad to see that his last 2 have been back to the blast it and still usually score even if you hit the keeper method.

Not what I meant.
I'm saying any pen that goes in is a good pen.

Was my view live...

Ah celebrating with crutches in the air.
I went to a derby on crutches once.
At hillsborough in fact. Best away game of my life.

I didn't realise he hit it so low. From the side angle it seemed to rise into the roof of the net, but that's from the deflection. Wasn't as good a pen as I thought then. Glad it went in.

There is a great bit in Denis Bergkamp's book (which I would recommend) about what is and isn't a good penalty.

It was put to him that the FA Cup semi final penalty he missed was actually a 'good' one, but that Schmeichel just made a brilliant save - but he just wouldn't have it. He insisted that ones that go in are good and ones that don't are bad.

Don't like Billy's pens at all, myself. But as long as he's scoring em, then fine.

Got to credit him for his bollocks, keeping on taking em after the 2 misses earlier in the season. But was surprised Wilder didn't take the duty away from him after then.

I'm sure I saw the same 'man with crutches' at the Bolton game on the Pukka Pies kop corner. He did the same celebration then, too.
Well all have our lucky charms, he's probably not needed them since the Fleetwood game.

Always been in favour of goalies taking them mesen...don't see it much these days.. ;)

The keeper actually dives to the side where he scored his last pen (against bolton) but he fired this straight down the middle.

Feck it its number 26
