Billy should be dropped

CCV looked completely out of place. didnt have a good game yesterday. cant remember him winning anything before being subbed
Alright mate but point I’m making is that didn’t really matter cos we only conceded one goal and if we had scored one or two we don’t lose- stating the obvious but you know what I mean

for all those saying that Sharp 'needs better service'

can't remember a time where he received the ball and didn't lose it. he couldn't keep hold of the ball either.

fuck me this is an argument i/some of us can never win because of shitty excuses. he's not good enough - end of

Good.

Let the hate flow through you.

I fancy Billy to score against Villa.

His type of game.

Definitely possible, though it’ll probably be a penalty because most of his goals are penalties. Or it won’t be a penalty because he’s rubbish at penalties. Or it’ll be because the defender marking him has turned to dust as the ball comes to him.

Don't be ridiculous ,only 6 players in the division have a better goals per minute record this season than Billy and Leon s one of those ,so isn't good enough is quite frankly pathetic. We played a difficult side with no first choice midfielders away ,no service to the strikers away from home. He has a blip in form but your comments are embarrassing. Or shitty to use your coin of phrase.

Lmabob seems to have two strands of thought:

a) Billy had a bad game against Preston
b) Billy is not good enough for the Championship.

I think no one is disagreeing with you at all about a). He had a poor game. The question is why. Firstly, for me, few people had a good game. Secondly, we didn't play our normal way, and as you noted, we hoofed it a lot. I don't think that was the gameplay, though. Our normal way relies on wingbacks and center backs getting forward, however, this relies on the midfield holding onto the ball, allowing defenders to move up the pitch. This didn't happen at all yesterday. Thirdly, as others have mentioned, he's not in great form at the minute.

I think there's a reasonable case, (although not one that I necessarily agree with) that he could be rested for a while, or rested for particular games.

However, your answer seems to be that he is is simply not good enough to perform at this level, which is demonstrably false, except for the fact that you've stated we can't use statistics in making our case. That's where you've lost people.

so the goals he scored against Derby were phenomenal and were due to his hard work and excellent skill? a few penalties too...

Not seen anyone in here mentioning Sharp shouting at Lafferty trying to make out that Lafferty was at fault when Sharp made a very poor pass (rolled out no more than a yard) to him?

Tyler Durden can you defend him today? What's so good about Billy? Was a fantastic pass to Lafferty out wide for sure in last 5 mins and saw him on arse for nearly the whole 90 minutes

He needs dropping. He's not good enough

Screw the goal statistics, he offers us barely anything

Strikers are either small and fast or tall and strong and good in the air. Billy is none of those except small
Laughed out loud at this post....shows complete ignorance, people always blame the strikers first when the truth is
our front 2 had zero service,it’s a bit like Wendy with Rhodes, thought us blades had a bit more sense.

Maybe you should sift through all his 56 goals over 2 years and chalk off the ones that don't count, then demand that we be relegated out of fairness....

You've made yourself a fucking laughing stock with this thread, and it restores my faith in this forum that most people can see through your hateful agenda.

I think the relevant question at the moment is whether the current team is capable of creating a good amount of chances for a poacher type to finish, or do we need someone who can make a bigger contribution in us attacking well and creating chances.

Didn’t see the game on Satdi but how many chances did Billy miss?

So being in the right place and seizing on the smallest of chances is not a 'skill' then?

You are quite right he has not scored any 40 yard scorchers though so he should be dropped obviously.

BTW, out of all the Championship top scorers, he still has the highest 'shots on target' ratio, but then we aren't allowed to use statistics are we?

What were your thoughts when Sharp shouted at Lafferty trying to make out that Lafferty was at fault when Sharp made a very poor pass (rolled out no more than a yard) to him?

My thoughts?

That any player who shouts on a pitch should be dropped and then fined heavily.

James Hanson wouldn't have shouted at him, he's a nice boy...

Ha ha

Thought it was poor captaincy by him. Made me think about when one of McNulty's friends called him Bully Sharp

And if anyone was still in any doubt about the relative strength of our current position, despite recent disappointments, the mere mention of bloody Marc McNulty should seal it ! :)
