Billy should be dropped

1) Last time I checked you play your best 11?
2) No i thought I'd go to the game and not watch it?
3) Maybe you should do then
4) I am not saying we didn't lump it up today in the second half but it's not how we play and it shouldn't even be an option. And if you have just listened to wilder on radio sheffield then I'd say he wasn't happy with the way the players played and I am pretty sure there's no way he is going to go to lump ball tactics. But as for Billy for lump ball yes I agree he isn't good for this but I don't want to see us playing lump ball so I'll stick to sharp over Hanson.
5) I read your reply but I just don't understand where your coming from because we shouldn't even be considering playing lump ball at all. We are still 6th in the championship just having a bad run at the minute but I didn't see you slagging sharp off last Friday night when he played well and hit the bar 2x and forced there keeper into making a wonderful save from a corner.
6) Also save me time and don't bother replying because I think your talking rubbish even considering playing lump ball.
Do the words 'I don't want us to play hoofball' mean something along the lines of 'I am considering us playing hoofball from now on'

Until Oxford at home last season it was lump it to Clarke at every attack.

Sharp is a great finisher but Is incapable of creating his own chances. He Did not retain possession or play anyone in today and I am sure that a pacier option must be found to partner Clark in January.
Although sharp scores goals I feel that the team would function better with a replacement for sharp and I would give Lavery a run

No place player is undroppable , that is unless you don't have a better replacement . Unfortunately I can see the case for dropping billy on one hand but on the latter point not so ..

We don't need to drop anyone, that's not the issue, we need to bring players back. Fleck, Coutts, Duffy, Wright all suspended, injured, ill or out of favour.

Sorry to be picky but if we don't drop anyone when the injured and suspended players come back we'll have tooo many players on the pitch and get fined.

he does fuck all a 'lot' of the time.. but score of course..
but.. seeing that scoring is the hardest job in football and all that
being johnny on the spot isn't a fluke. it is a 'skill'

Two things here.

1. I agree he should be dropped (to the bench) as he’s in poor form.

2. To say he’s not good enough is ridiculous.

Can’t believe I’m reading some of the stuff in this thread. Drop Sharp and start with Hanson? My head hurts.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Wind up the air-raid sirens, here comes the Hoofwaffe.

On Sharp - how was a midfield of Lundstram, Carruthers and Basham ever going to create the chances he needs? He played today because the alternative (Donaldson) is worse.

We are now playing a different style of football because we are missing the "Holy Trinity". Think we should play 4-5-1 (Clarke can play on his own) for the next two games

4-5-1 for me too, at the moment. Shore us up, steady us down, pick up some points, get us back on track (add other appropriate cliches of choice).

Seems kind of obvious, given the key positions that have been disrupted ? Don't think it's the Wilder Way, though.

Agree. With Brooks behind him in a free role and Duffy in the Coutts position.

Disappointed that this thread has seemingly been extinguished....
and i'm all ready for a night at El Dempso's....

Tyler Durden can you defend him today? What's so good about Billy? Was a fantastic pass to Lafferty out wide for sure in last 5 mins and saw him on arse for nearly the whole 90 minutes

He needs dropping. He's not good enough

Screw the goal statistics, he offers us barely anything

Strikers are either small and fast or tall and strong and good in the air. Billy is none of those except small
I'm gonna defend Billy here.
Short memories some people have here it's uncanny.

Our talisman last year.Led the team superbly, scored a hatful.

Got our season underway this year, scored a few goals too.

Dropped from captaincy.

There's your answer. Why the buggering hell has his captaincy been taken away from him.
I'm not happy about it tbh.

the service to the front 2 was pathetic today.

Clarke ran his nuts off - so well done to him.
Billy - and off day - he'll battle all day, but he needs balls like he got at Burton - and that problem is created by a poor midfield.

UTB

Any ball that was played to sharp was lost, due to him being outmuscled, out paced or offside.
The TEAM offer a bigger threat when he is not in it, yes he scores goals but is in my opinion a passenger when it scoring

Billy not scoring goals is the result of the providers being missing - I don't really understand the line of argument 'Billy doesn't create his own chances' - we know that, he never had done, are people suddenly expect him to become a different player.

We could play one of those other strikers we have that score without any service.
Still might be worth trying someone else, he did get drop last season when his form dipped.
Might need a striker thta can help hold the play up better?
But something does need to change with recent results, I'm not picking out one person, but just saying Sharp does go through his dry spells.

Guess what...some players suit certain systems better than others.

When Sharp was here under Robson and Blackwell many blamed them for not playing him in a role to get the best out of him.

As we've seen this season certain games really suit Billy and others don't. He doesn't have pace, height and the presence for the way we played today.

It's all about getting the best out of what you've got available.

With arguably our 4 best midfielders missing, today was always going to be a struggle realistically.

The challenge now is to get the wheels back on before the wobble becomes a slide.
