He’s never had any pace to lose, so it’s more about appetite and stamina now. And both are as good as I’ve ever seen from him.
He’s got more pace since he got to the championship as he’s got fitter and sharper. His extra strength and conditioning has paid off. He works his bollocks off.

I think he’s benefitted playing off McGoldrick recently. However, the biggest key has been the wing backs allowing him to stay in the box more.

Doesn't get any assists - get rid.

Freeman’s return has really helped Sharp too. And in turn, Norwood’s passing allows the wingbacks to get into better positions. A plan is coming together....

I imagine Keith Edwards will have enjoyed the second goal. Get behind the defender, begin a forward run, defender runs forward to cover, step back, and if the centre is a good one, use the yard of space created to score with a header. Strikers like Edwards and Sharp don't need to be tall to score headers. Great to watch.

It’s beautiful to watch.

What I love is that we’re patient and learning from last season. At 0-0 we were getting no joy in that second half as Blackburn were sitting back.

So we dropped off, encouraged them on and found the goal with a nice build up, then reverted to men behind the ball again.

It’s having that confidence to let teams come onto us so that we can counter them which I think is the big change

Having Billy and McG on the end of things is a developing partnership, just need more game time for Leon and Washington to have those extra options ready

As Bruce Springsteen once sang, "Everyone's legs go baby that's a fact. But maybe this season Billy's legs have come back?".

Welcome f'king back, Billy's f'king legs! :)

Billy Sharp ?

Well , he's ok but it's a shame we didn't one of those proper strikers that were suggested throughout the Summer like Nahki Wells , Scott Hogan or Sam Gallagher who are all knocking 'em in right , left and centre.

( I'll just go and check that ) :D:D:D

Hogan is back on the bench for Villa. I doubt Wilder has lost the scent...

The lad just cant help but cement himself in blade folklore. To all the naysayers, keep the "fat chants" coming while he puts another bulge in the back of your keeper's net. UTB

And don’t forget that class striker called Martyn Waghorn who was going to be the final piece of the jigsaw for SU.
Don’t think he’s been good enough to start a game this season whilst at Derby.
Also don’t think he’s scored a single goal yet.....just shows how stupid judging players can be.

The choice was Waghorn for £5 million or McGoldrick on a free transfer.
Think we choose the best striker, cost nothing.

Billy has changed his game completely, he is more involved in play and one thing I’ve noticed is he is being fouled less cause he has adapted his game massively to the way we play

Exactly, it's all about knowing where to be and what to do, OK it's bad defending to leave him one on one at the back post but yeah, watch, the way he gets close to the defender and then takes that one step back to make the space. Having said that, what a pinpoint cross, credit Enda, you'll never see a better cross than that.

I must admit, I was one of the doubters but there's no substitution for nouse and positional sense in this game and he's one of the best around where that's concerned.

....probably scored again whilst you were reading this.

 Yes another Billy Sharp thread, but who cares.

Billy Sharp do do do do do do :shark:
What was the significance of the ‘one finger on the forehead’ - like a unicorn - when Sharp scored his second goal?
