Also spent considerable time reading through the messages of support on Billy's Twitter this morning and it's amazing the amount of people from the world of football and beyond thave sent him love and support.

I really think that SUFC should have a minute silence/applause which ever Billy wants at the next Saturday home game and that the players should wear black arm bands to mark what is a tragic occasion for one of our own

I was, and remain, completley choked up by this.

Billy is a distant aquintance of mine, a friend of friends - I've shared a few nights out in his company and I've had dealings with him from his ongoing support of Dronfield Town FC. He continues to commit his time and money to help our club grow - donating kits etc out of his own pocket.

He is an absolutley top bloke. What he did last night shows his strenght of character and the respect he has for the position he holds as a pro footballer. He played through the pain barrier for his son, his family, his profession and the fans that chant his name.

RIP little Sharpy.

Can only echo what everyone has said in this thread.

Billy will always be close to SUFC supporters' hearts and everyone is feeling for him at the moment.

A word for Wednesday supporters today too in that they've shown excellent respect in rising above rivalries to share in Billy's grief.

it shows great character to come back and play so soon, unlike the Tevez situation, Billy has shown us there is some "heart" left in football.
