I'd just like to ask Nigel his thoughts on this signing, and why he made it?

He seems to offer no more (probably less) than Porter in both goals and link up play. This has been the one real flop of Nigels signings in my opinion. I appreciate we need numbers up front, but send him back and go again with any other striker available for me as he just seems to be eating wages up and showing no improvement to the side. I'd like us to sign at least one more striker anyway, but really don't think this chap is the answer. Sorry mate!

I dont think its fair to judge him just yet. He wasnt fit when he signed & hasnt had a run in the side.
He did a decent job last nigth though didnt he?

Shall we wait for the "don't know, didn't go but he didn't score" comment ;)

I believe that Paynter was brought in for fixtures just like that one last night, a battle. Physical sides that have battered is earlier in the season now have to contend with Big Billy.
It's to counter act bigger sides when defending set pieces and looking to have the height and strength to optimise the chances of us scoring from our own set pieces.

Give him a bit of time to get match fit. He's hardly played this season. NC stated after the game last night that Paynter had a poor start to the game but really contributed after the first 15 or so until he was replaced. NC knows what he is doing. Keep the faith in him. It will be repaid in spades.

A lad I work with is big mates with one of Bradford's centre backs. After the game the other week he said something along the lines of "I was glad when Paynter went off he never gave me a moments peace", he also said that Porter never really did anything other than run alongside him.
