Seem to recall our former striker taking up the role of the club's head scout. If so, not heard much about him, or seen the fruits of his scouting! Anybody know anything?

Putney, we don't think that scouts are likely to let everybody know how they work, who their contacts are and who they are tracking which is fair enough I suppose.

I guess we'll just have to look at the new signings and wonder if they were scouted by Billy D's team

Shaun Miller is one we were linked with a year ago, so probably one we have kept watching. Micky Adams changed almost the entire scouting team, bringing in Dave Bassett and his friends. Then I reckon Danny Wilson brought in his own people, including Dearden last summer. I believe the club's player data base (scout reports) stays even though the scouts come and go.

People don't understand how vital it is to build an extensive scouting network using the best scouts available it is to success on Football Manager 12

If he's as good a scout as he was player, we wouldn't be where we are now - what would you give, sorry, what wouldn't you give to find another Billy Dearden? I'd give a year's supply of Viagra to see that team again, Saturdays and Tuesday nights were absolute class even when we lost.

Brave too....played on in promotion season when needing a cartilage op. Remember seeing him running through on a few occasions and the cartilage giving way. Wouldn't be allowed these days.

Claim to fame, my Dad did his cartilage op and I got to meet him as youngster. Great bloke and very approachable.
