Pink Sambuca drinking World Champion.
I went to the 125 do at Pond's Forge last night, along with five fine members of this forum, and we met and had our pictures taken with players past and present. They were all complete gents, photos and autographs were never too much trouble, and a fine old time was had by all, apart from when the bar shut.
A special mention to a man who seemed genuinely delighted to be asked for autographs and photos, the legend that is Alan Woodward. He must have been accosted by every fan there for a pic, a handshake or an autograph and he obliged everyone.
In these days when footballers get a bad reputation, which some richly deserve our lot were brilliant last night, even James Beattie laughed at the request for a pic in the queue for a piss.
Thanks to all the players I met last night, all polite and happy to pose with all and sundry.
But who had the bright idea to bring gin? I feel a bit fragile this morning.....
