Instead of a big screen, hook up the ground with fast wifi like EE have at wembley, then we can watch the replays on our phones straight away, get different camera angles etc. Usa sports are going down this route now aswell and it works a treat.

EE really need to install some sort of distributed antenna system at Bramall Lane, signal is really shocking during a match.

Yes. Been planned for a while.

Hmmm..........hope they aren't Wet Spams old ones :(

It's like having hand me downs when you were a kid

UTB

Edit: the one we have now works on XP - no doubt the new ones work on Vista !

Same as Dortmund ground.

Could you imagine how many kids would be on their ipads and people checking their bets. Blimey!

Funnily enough, someone did have that on the radar and intended to look at that, not sure if that's totally canned now he's no longer involved.

Hence the new one cuz the capability of the current one is shite! LED perimeters are likely too
I asked Jim before we played Spurs if we're planning on getting any of these at some point and he said it wasn't cost effective unless we were in the premier league. Hope we do get them, they'll look immense against the desso

We were league one then.
Jims no longer involved.
Wider audience in the champ- more exposure/ more cash etc!
Possible deal with screen provider

Can the ground power supply actually handle them though? I remember the big screen and the scoreboard repeatedly cutting out when we had them against spurs. Might not actually be possible.

I'd have thought the old floodlights would have been less efficient and so there'd be some spare capacity from when we upgraded them to what we have now.
I'm guessing we have our own substation which we could get upgraded if we had to. When you think of what we must use for catering, lighting etc a TV must only be a small proportion of that.

Easily resolved. Have the team warm up on bikes feeding batteries to power the advertising boards (for 6 and a half minutes probably)

Excellent news ! .............. can't wait to see the Lane techno's fully upgrade the screen to use Windows 3.1.

UTB !!

How times have changed, I remember when we used to get excited when we had half time scores from other games put up on little boards up against the perimeter wall like A2-2 B1-0 etc,
Only knew what A B C etc meant if you bought a programme. Pigs match always updated for our amusement tho !
For younger board members, this was in the days when radio was called 'wireless',and was in black and white! :)

Used to love the old "Today's latest scores" flashing on the old scoreboard. Then if it was Wednesday losing the cheer from the crowd was quality!

We seem to have lost replays again I've noticed , perhaps scoring so few we've forgotten how 🤔.

Broadening this out I'm probably like many who go into some dark zone when going into BDTBL , impossible to catch up on half times scores still missing on the screen ...why ?

We have the new swanky advertising around the ground now , surely this frees up the screen for some half time / in match info.

Credit where its due , the new digital clock at the bottom of the kop is a welcome addition.

Found the off field presentation poor on Tuesday night, no use of the screen for anything match related and no announcement of who our subs were or who was playing for the opposition. Didn’t seem to be as big a pre match build up as previous seasons

I agree , although better than the previous game when we apparently brought on Jack Robinson at some stage 🫣.

Sort it out .

Didn’t one of the operators pass away unexpectedly recently? You’d think the whole operation would be bigger than one lad doing a good job but you never know with how United are run.

Probably has been answered in this thread but how come our screen just shows the score, advertising and odd reply when it works, yet a lot of other clubs shows the live game on their screens?
