Nice positive post about an improvement to the club facilities.
I think it's about the only place they colud have put it seen as they are about to rebuild the Kop and possibly the south stand as well.

The location and the way its fixed looks just what it is: an half cocked afterthought!
Don't get me wrong I'm all for improvements and modern technology, but that just looks ridiculous!
I'd also guess whoever has the box at the far end of JSS will be a bit pissed off as well.

The boxes have the game on in them anyway so the big screen makes no difference to them whatever.

They will only be pissed off if they want wave to their mates in the Westfield Corner Stand.
It looks to me like their view of the pitch is fine.

Apparantly they'll be showing matches on this that are live on TV on a Saturday lunchtime.

Would you have your plasma/LCD TV at home (or any other TV) mounted in front of your front window????
It would have been better on top of the BL stand!

If it were as good as the fish n chips at Tynemouth we'd be alreight.
thats temporary though isnt it ? im sure its going on the new kop ,if it bothers you that much dont look at it

I think its pretty good to be honest, but then again its facing straight at me over on Gangway B of the South Stand.
I think they would have struggled for somewhere else to put it for the time being, but expect it might get re-housed if/when any stadium development occurs.
I cant understand peoples problems on here, its better than what was already there....

Do we know if this is a temporary or the permanent position?
If you read the article on the OS, it says that this is also another step towards becoming a UEFA accredited ground, so pushes our bid for 2018, not with words and pictures like the piggies, but actual improvements.
As for the offices and the end box on JS then maybe just maybe those concerned were consulted.
It doesn't look great from that angle, but seeing it under construction v the pigs it looks like the Kop and South Stand (2 largest stands) will have a great view.
Well done SUFC, just proves that whatever the club try and do, some people will always be miserable.

Better than invisible screen at the sty,it has a temporary appearance to it .No point wasting money on an expensive enclosure for it if they are planning to move its location?
I like the idea of a big screen it certainly puts heat on the ref and linos not to mess up in front of the home crowd as the replay is up there for all home fans to see.

The Offices that have windows behind the screen are just offices, the businesses in them do not pay for these to be able to watch the match, they pay for them to work and make money.
Why are you so bothered about it, do you pay for one of these offices purely to watch the match? I think a simple season ticket would be cheaper than the rent if you do.
Other than that it is pretty much the only place at the moment that it could be put wthout obscuring any season ticket holders veiws.
+ what do you suggest they attach it to the stand/offices with? clear double sided sticky tape? one of the adjustable arms you can get for 17" screens? wires from above so t swings about in the wind?

I don't see anything wrong with the location. It's not going to block anybody's view - seats or boxes. I can't see it blocking a view from the offices - I think the only windows on pitch side are the ones that the police rent as their control room, and you can clearly see those still underneath the tv. HOWEVER, with the CCTV facilities that they have, they don't need to have a window!!!
