Big Sam

For those keeping count of the Big Sam effect, they've taken 4 points out of 21 since he took over.

This is broadly in line with the points per game ratio of Slaven Bilic.

One thing i noticed last night was that he was just sat back in his chair during the second half. There's no way Bilic would have done that, evben at 5-0, Bilic would be on the touchline trying to head and kick every ball

They were shit at home even when they were quite good ,when Darren Moore was there

Worth noting that Norwich didn't sack Farke after relegation last season. They are now six points clear at the top of the Championship. Bournemouth parted company with Eddie Howe and they are now 6th
Absolutely. We're going down this season. There is absolutely no one available who can save us (and this goes back to December).

Anyone who wouldn't want Wilder leading us next season wants their bumps felt.

Personally, I feel we should show loyalty regardless of pragmatism... but understand this isn't for everyone. And FWIW, I don't feel he should be above criticism either.

Sounds great in theory. But in practice, if the Prince has lost trust in Wilder's ability to spend money wisely then the damage may be irreparable. Wilder will walk if the Prince doesn't provide him with sufficient funds or forces a Director of Football on him.

Oh give over. The Prince said he's got full faith in Wilder to remain in position for next season. Even if the rumours of no loans being available this month are true, then it's prudence rather than lack of faith in Wilder. Shit stirring like this does no one any favours.

He's already had his mouthpiece Jim Phipps testing the waters with regards to a Director of Football amongst the fan base.
There was also a lot of talk that he'd tried to get Van Winckel involved more but that it had been rejected by Wilder.
He himself said in interviews we need to get involved in the foreign markets a lot more to survive in the Prem &, Berge aside, this has been resisted.

I can't say anything with certainty (which is why I didn't - note the use of "if" & "may" in my post which you quoted), but I do think there's enough there to reasonably speculate on an internet forum.
I reject your nonsense that this equates to "shit stirring."

Totally agree that management continuity and stability, it's absolutely crucial for the next 5 years if we are to build a decent side. We dont want to get back to the managerial 'merry go round' we had before with Robson, Clough, Madkins et al ! I will take 4 good years and 1 bad year with Wilder any day !

When you take inferences from the vaguest of evidence.... some of which is from rumours alone, then it's shit stirring.

"There was a lot of talk that he'd tried to get Van Winckel involved more" - this talk was seasons ago, was refuted at the time and was basically rumours made up among the fanbase. Now that's nonsense.

There's a breed of football supporter (very prevalent among Blades) that have a burning desire to look to the negative and the conspiraceh.

Could have been the dreaded 'vote of confidence'?

why dont we just wait and see what happens next season these wilder signings although failures in the premier league could be big succeses in the championship and with 5 loan signings allowed we might not have to spend as much as some are saying the squad with 3 or 4 additions has a great chance of coming straight back imo

I agree we are going down this season.
I agree no one can save us.
I am happy for CW to stay.
I do find some articles/pieces/comments bewildering as to how great CW is, how it is someone else's fault not his, he's tantamount to being a messiah, etc. Yes, I know he can be a naught (and mardy) boy but he is definitely not a or the messiah!
In my view he shoulders a huge part of any blame as to where the responsibility lies for our present position/predicament.
I also realise we could do with lots more money in the many tens and tens of millions of pounds.
However, I would be interested in anyone's view on which player(s) has been a truly excellent purchase since we were promoted and who has delivered on the pitch.
I can think of not one really outstanding player who has arrived since promotion.
I want all players at the Lane to do well. More than that I want my team to do well - irrespective of who the manager is/what he has done in the past/how long he has been here/where he's from, etc. I like McBurnie and I do not dislike Ramsdale or Brewster. However, McBurnie doesn't score enough, Ramsdale make too many mistakes and Brewster - doesn't score.
That's what they were bought to do. Not grow into their positions, ease themselves into the team and then take on more responsibility.
They were brought in to stop goals, score goals and do what is required in their positions.
There is a lot of talk about the team not being strengthened sufficiently in necessary areas, such as midfield and defence. Why did we not do that in the last close season at the very least?
Someone in the last couple of weeks or so, produced a very interesting graph/plan/schedule or whatever comparing us in this season (so far) with last. There were so many similarities: number (or rather lack) of goals, amount of possession, areas of possession, shots on target, corners, fouls, etc., etc.
Why weren't our shortcomings addressed or is it simply we didn't have enough money and can't pay the going rate for wages? Is that even true? If it is, then perhaps some think we might as well go down because we are never going to sort out the problems in the ever widening gulf between so many in the Premier League with money and the relatively few poorer clubs.
Anyway, what do you think we can keep the score down to, tonight?

I think it's a Sheffield trait largely, whether football supporter or not. There's a proper gloomy lot in this city whose lives are dull through the choices they unconscously make but when unrealistic expectations are not met, they point the finger of blame where a mirror would be more appropriate. The 'I'm reight n thart wrong' attitude.

Agree largely but would it not be fairer or more accurate to say Brewster hasn't scored yet? He obviously does score as proven last season, all be it in the Championship.

Why would we expect him to hit the ground running in a poor functioning team?
Even Havertz looks poor at Chelsea and you could argue they're better quality than us. I could probably name others but my point is made😊.

As for the score,4 mebbe. I'll keep bobbing out from behind the sofa 😆
Not sure I want to even switch the telly on for Saturdays game😨 UTB

Don’t think so. 🤔
Great win and hopefully lots more to come this season.
Let’s hope we stay up, win the cup and blaze a trail through Europe next season.
It doesn’t change what I said.

No but form does change
We earnt that win by building belief up in January
Just got to keep that belief
City on Saturday we expect to lose
Get a point be massive . More for confidence than anything.
From not being able to hit a cows with a banjo we are in danger of being reported to the RSPCA for cattle abuse

and let’s hope our form can go on changing for the better.
Definitely we need and hopefully can now hold onto and build up more confidence.
It would be great to have players back from injury and maybe get a full bench.
We could do with some other players to break their duck in the Premier League and get on the score sheet.
Let’s start with all those whose surnames start with a « B ».
(Last night does not alter my original post and feelings.)
