Is this to be one of our tough games in midweek?

Our record is not so clever against them and I am sure they'll be buoyed up by that result at Wembley. Pleased for them and Jack, at least as an ex-Blade he can win something!

No easy games I suppose but they are bottom of the league and anything less than 3 points will be disappointing to say the least. And having looked at the stats for today I see Swindon had 60 % possession and twice as many attempts.

It was a poor game with Chessie sitting deep and creating little and Swindon's final ball being awful.

They are bottom of the table...start in the style we started at on Tuesday and we will win

I think they will still be nackered on Wednesday. With Macca back we should have 3 points in the bag.

Two weeks ago Chesterfield led Stevenage 2 0 away until conceding 2 in two mins just 13 from the end.
So beware. It will be a tough slog.:(

Well i reckon we know what their game plan will be after watching that today. An early goal would serve us well but we need to be patient as they'll have everyone behind the ball.

Not sure the record against them means much.

Away at chez they didn't offer much, no real threat and whilst we didnt exactly pull up any trees, we were professional enough to the chance we got. If I remember right it was windy as fook and porter was awful.

We've come a long way since November.

I expect Chez to be up for it, but they are the team to be worried, not us. They've just played and won on the big occasion and whilst the JPT is a joke of a tournament, they did well to beat lower league opposition. I'm mightily pissed off that our league game was moved for this poxy cup game. All other JPT games are played midweek, why wasn't this one? I means immiss the chez game and as such lose out on another game of my season ticket. Sorry if that sounds belittling, but its not something to get worried about.

We need to go at them from the start, put them on the back foot, remind them why they are bottom and why we've sat in the top 2 for the most part of the season.

Beware of the bounce, but don't fear them, put them to the sword Danny.

Treat all teams with upmost respect and our quality should shine through.. I thought they were a poor side today, but it was their day and ongratulations to them. Our game on the day after Tuesday will be a big challenge for them and us. Patience will be the key..

Glad they won today. But it's worth bearing in mind they were playing a team in the division below as well.

As others have said, its likely all their energy will have been expended today (we hope0). Even so, they're a team we should be winning comfortably at home.

'Spireites' - daftest nickname for a club?

Barnsley's "The Reds" being the most unimaginative. A bit like naming a goldfish "Goldie"

Sounds like they have poor fitness conceding two 13 minutes from the end.
Another game on Wednesday will be too much for them they are better off aiming at getting their points next Saturday at home against Scunny.

I envisage wednesday night being a very scrappy, frustrating affair. They will come with the sole aim of stopping us playing the football we exhibited last tuesday and the pressure on our players may result in a cagey beginning to the game . Once again as supporters we need to remain patient if we don't score early doors, and once the goal does come try not to get frustrated if we sit back and play it safe for a bit. No doubt we should trounce them on paper but we have struggled before when teams have come to the lane and parked the proverbial bus

I do hope I am proven wrong and we bang in four in the first 20 mins but my main concern is 3 points, don't care how it happens!

Ps taking r lass for her first game tuesday, in a hope it will go some way to explain why I was in huddersfield valentines day instead of the tapas meal I promised her!

UTB

Good luck with that one Bobby.

Think its time for a Ched hat-trick and also a BT goal (and someone else)
Im going for a 5-1 win

Aren't Barnsley called the Tykes?

I think if we score early on, then we'll trounce them. However Sheridan will know that and set up not to concede. I am actually glad they won, because in a perverse way it might help. Wilson can say to the players that Chesterfield should not be underestimated and we need to graft. This way we might avoid another Exeter or Oldham.

The trick is to be patient. They'll try to frustrate us, but we'll get chances. The key thing will be to remain calm, play how we can and when the chances do come up bury them. I think that we'll win fairly comfortably, after a slightly frustrating period. 2 second half goals and Blades to win 2 nowt.

This is one for Danny. None of this 'when they cross the white line there's nothing I can do' crap. Get the lads revved up as if it's our cup final (as all games now will be) and we'll have enough.

Send them out with a 'job done' attitude (like 2nd half v. Oldham) and we're fooked.

Another inspirational piece of propaganda from our very own ray of sunshine
Now telling us we have tone worried about playing the leagues bottom team

Ollie, yes they have been called The Tykes, but most refer to them as the Reds.....no idea why!

Well done Chesser. Please celebrate your win until the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Doesn't 'bounce' normally mean the opposite i.e a failure after a win ?

Bottom club, there for the taking, get your money on a Ched hat-trick @ 16s ;)

Need just a professional performance against a very poor side bottom for a reason and we should be showing why we deserve to be back in 2nd no excuses on wednesday should be 3 points and on to the Hartlepool game for the same.

How times flies. It seems everyone has forgotten the Oldham, Walsall and Tranmere matches

Although I was in the 'concerned' group last week, the Notts County game has settled the nerves a bit. Happy to put Oldham down to complacency and one of those days. In the previous 9 or 10 home games we put similar teams to bed comfortably. Replacing the back four at Walsall always meant there was potential for problems and whilst Tranmere was a huge disappointment, as I say, Notts C has put us back on track.

Another pivotal game on Wednesday and no reason why we shouldn't expect a good professional performance and a comfortable win. Can we get back to the commanding home performances or are the three games you mention what we've got to look forward to ? Got to be the former :)

It seems you tend to focus on 3 poor games than the other 35 of the season... 22 of which we have won!

Did you forget that bit?

Can see Chesterfield coming here, sticking 10 men behind the ball and trying to hit us on the break. It will be a war of attrition, but can see us getting 3 at least!

Last season and the seaosn before we struggled to cope with this as we just had one approach, push forward. It wasn't very effective.

This season we at least have the ability to retain the possession, sit back and coax teams out a little to enable us to get around the back of them and stretch the midfield and defence out of their tight units. Looking at the Notts County video this seems to be what we did there with exceptionally good results
