As above, best win so far.

Bolton played dirty, tried to bully us and got nowhere. Tonight has proven we can play the good stuff when needed but can also get stuck in and give as good as we get.

Also nice to see we have back up players who we can be confident in.

Finally well done to lundstram came on tonight and showed what hes about and nearly got on the scoresheet.

Yeah, a good win considering what Bolton tried to do to us. Good atmosphere too by us Blades and I hope the ball bags who I was stood next to got home ok!!

Who would have thought it
Two tricky looking away games and 6 points gained
Excellent stuff

What a result. Stop start match which was never going to be allowed to flow. But we're injury free and a great set piece training session. Defence was awesome. We'll carve them to pieces at the Lane.

Cunt Ball 0 - 1 Tufty Ball

Bring on Norwich!

Agree with all these comments and most rewarding win so far for me.
Bolton thinking that long balls and clogging tactics are going to work in this division...
Fuck em,they'll be back down in the 1st division where they belong

Really professional performance last night. Every man stood up to the task of playing in the land of giants. It wasn't the prettiest at times and we where guilty of playing into their hands of giving away free kicks around our own penalty area but we defended heroically. Another 3 points can't ask for anymore

Agree.

In the Championship I've noticed a big difference in styles compared to league 1.

League 1 teams seem to play the percentages game.
They regularly knock the ball in to danger zones and hope for a defensive mistake or a bit of luck.
That's the style of Bolton, although they are poor, playing that style will get them occasional wins, when they have some luck.
Bolton makes defences work harder and for longer but only half decent defending is needed to keep them at bay.

The problem for Bolton is their style/ ethos is perfectly suited to league 1 but simply no where near good enough for the Championship.

Championship teams are more deliberate, don't cross as much, don't try the Hollywood pass as much because possession is treasured more so they want to make a precise pass or cross direct to a player. Brentford summed up that style perfectly. They were extremely precise trying to carve open our defence but they didn't work our defence as much as Bolton.

Its weird but in some ways the Championship is easier for our defenders than playing in league 1, it's a different type of game.

That's the difference between a united team of old and a team under Wilder and Knill, we are well drilled and can play different ways to accommodate the tactics the other team uses, united teams of old would have folded last night, and we would all be on here dissecting the defeat.
