Best SUFC Players since 1980 - Central Midfield 2 of 2 (Attacking/Creative)

1980 because that's when I started going regularly and you've got to draw the line somewhere.
I've not included loan players or those that only played a handful of games...
Who do you reckon and why?

Brown for the sheer consistency he had from 2001-03, otherwise Hodges

Brown for me. genuinely excellent for the final 2 years of his stay, even when we were shit.

And we went a lot shitter after he left.

Gordan Cowans was immense when he first started playing, Kendall's main man in totally changing the playing style from the Bassett team. He was almost a defensive midfielder positionally and picked the ball up really deep from the back 4. Same sort of thing Leon Britton was doing when Speed took over until the Scunthorpe weird game sent Speed into defensive Blackwellesque mode. And of course Britton was then totally written off by a lot of Unitedites, but not me.

I thought Hutchison was underrated for us, put in a couple of good years.

Tongey on his day would have got the vote, but is problem was inconsistency.

Brown, but only because Cowans was around for such a short time otherwise he would've got the vote. Hutchison did well as did Hodgy in that position but I always thought he did better from wide for us.

Hodgy for me, from Brown, though I always thought Glenn Cockerill was a good player.

Hodges, still probably my favourite Blades player.
