There's probably going to be abattle here between Geary and Harley (it's his spell in the Triple Assault season).

Notes on the players:

Macari: son of Lou. Reserve forward, did not play in this season or any other.

Smith: played a few games as sub as 26 in 00-01. Was 33 in 1999-2000 and 20 in 2001-02

Tonge: 01-02 was really his breakthrough season and he wore 26 then. Had been 32 in 2000-01 and was 18 2002-08.

Harley: as noted above he was 26 in his 2 months on loan in 02-03. Went on to be 20 in 03-04, 14 in 04-05 and 3 in 05-06.

Quinn: wore 26 in his brief return on loan in 02-03. Had been no. 3 1999-2001.

Rankine: wore 26 when he was on loan at the end of 02-03. Wore 21 in 03-04

Conneally: wore 26 in the relegation season. Wore 23 the following season but never played a first team game in either shirt.

I rated Geary (grudgingly) when he was at Wednesday before he came to us. Couldn't understand why he went to Stockport but I thought he was instantly impressive for us and just carried on getting better until he was injured.

Some of his crossing was as good as I've seen in the last few years and really, really can't fault his attitude. Still love that footage when Ronaldo is trying to toy with him he's doggedly doing all he can to stay on his feet and not get made to look a mug.

I can see why Geary will win this.

However, got to be Harley for me. He was a better player and played to his best ability, with Tonge and Brown, when we were the best side in the division. If we could have extended that loan spell until the end of the season I think we'd have been promoted. Class player (and by far the best performer on this list).

You got that vid?

I haven't - and on a quick raid of YouTube I think it may have been Kozzy spinning like a top. But in my mind's eye it's on the John Street side so I'll keep looking. Have a look here

You might be thinking of this, but it was with Rooney.

Harley for me.

Unbeaten (when he started) during his Loan spell, not a coincidence at all.

I liked Bombhead for a lot of things, an especially memorable goal at the New Den leading to a win after seemingly endless defeats prior to that. Plenty of effort and desire shown in the shirt.

But Jon Harley was a much better player.

Harley was a favourite of mine

BUT
Its no contest against old Del boy
Geary all the way

Obviously the debate about Del vs Harley has been done.

Quite surprised Dazzler isn't asking for an explanation of anyone voting from Quinn for his, less than brilliant spell, when he replaced Harley in 03. Is this a protest vote?

Marvelous - frame by frame exactly as I had it in my head, barring the fact it was Rooney rather than Ronaldo. Still love the way he's just not up for getting beaten however many tricks get played and only has his wild lunge when he's got some support on the scene.
