On the no. 11. Kabba won easily, leaving the dream squad thus:

1. Paddy Kenny
2. Matt Lowton
3. Wayne Quinn
4. Nick Montgomery
5. Chris Morgan
6. Phil Jagielka
7. Michael Brown
8. Stuart McCall
9. James Beattie
10. Paul Peschisolido
11. Steve Kabba

On the no.10 run off for the nightmare squad, Hayles had a fairly comfortable victory leaving that squad thus

1. Steve Simonsen
2. Daryl Westlake
3. Gary Flitcroft
4. Danny Higginbotham
5. Rob Kozluk
6. Nyron Nosworthy
7. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
8. Anthony Stokes
9. James Thomas
10. Barry Hayles

We need another run off for the no.11. on the nightmare side, Ten Heuvel, Johnson, Hendrie, Cotterill, Yeates and Flynn all got no votes. That run off is elsewhere.

Time for the no.12's. My designated nightmare candidate here are Launders and Parkinson . Anyone voting for them will have their votes disallowed unless they post a reasoned justification in the thread.

Players wore other numbers thus:

Montgomery: no. 36 2000-01, no. 22 2001-02, no.4 2003-05, no. 17 2005-09, no. 4 2009-12
Cotterill: no. 4 2008-09, no. 11 2009
Williamson: no. 14 2010-12
Slew: no. 35 2010-11

It appears I am first voter! For me only two that can really be considered, Lee Morris and Alan Quinn and I went with the former for doing it for us more years and for taking us to Prem

For those caring to vote for Lee Morris, they should be aware that his one relevant appearance was as sub at Crewe on 9/10/99 after he returned from injury. Slowly afterwards we mugged Derby for £3m for him.

Piggy Quinn gets my vote. His winner vs the Pigs in 05/06 is worth it alone ..... though he did score against us for our porcine rivals a few years before. Thought he was a steady player Quinn. Never thought we should have got rid of him to be honest, as he was a damn site better than some of the flops Robson brought in. Quinn was not the most gifted player, but he was a grafter. He actually had a decent touch, could pass and offered good attacking options. He made a valuable contribution in getting to the Prem and I think generally his time at the club was a positive. He's a worthy squad member imo.

I think you mean you went for the latter...

The oly vaguely decent players in that list are Morris, Quinn and Williamson.

As Dazzler states, Morris played very few games in the shirt which rules him out.

Quinn did it in teh Championship, Williamson didn`t. they were probably both as effective in teh relevant leagues, so Quinn Snr for me...

Morris, Quinn and Miller are the only options really. As stated above, this poll only covers one sub appearance for Morris and 'Stuart' (also known as Shaun!) Miller only played a few games in the 3rd division so Quinn for me, with the bonus of that goal against them lot.

It's so long ago that he played, I have forgotten his name :-)

Foxy, please correct.

Re the 2 votes for Williamson. Please note that this poll covers his performance only in the 2009-10 when he was injured a lot. Those who think he was great may want to wait for the no.14 poll which covers his subsequent form.

Well there you go then, even more reason to choose Quinn Snr...

I actually liked Jaffo best, but in terms of best player has to be Quinn.

Who on earth is Brian Launders?

Voted for Quinn, it was him or D'Jaffo from a pretty uninspiring list.

In November 1999, Heath picked up two players released by Palace. Launders, a midfielder, and Sagi Burton, a defender. Both were named on the bench for the game at Stockport on 20/11/99. Launders came on early in the second half, but within a few minutes was injured and was subbed himself. Burton stayed on the bench.

Heath resigned on 23/11/99 and Russell Slade took temporary charge. I believe he thought Launders and Burton's fitness levels were crap and promptly released them both.

Burton will be a contender for the no. 20 shirt :-)

Can't wait for Lee Baxter to crop up in this poll! :D

If ever there was a dead cert for the nightmare squad, he is it! :)

Ditto. I had to weigh up between favourite and best. In the end I went for Quinny. I did like old steely back Jaffs though.

Surely you mean the latter ;) ?
