Mid 70sI can't believe no one has mentioned 'a quality goal from a quality player'.
TCs goal capping a 0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2 comeback and comeback again against Wet Sham, early 70s.

I was at both those games. The Wigan result was the biggest robbery of all time. We were utterly abysmal for 80+ minutes and stole a point. So many Blades had long since walked out…. and to think we walked out gutted by Billy’s miss!!I was also at the Wigan game. It was amazing that we weren't already about 6-0 down by the time we scored our first! As suggested we were fucking awful for 75 minutes and then Wigan decided to try and play even worse than us! To cap a thoroughly odd game, Billy almost snatched the most unlikely winner right at the death.
For late comebacks, I recall a couple from the 4th Division. Weren't we 3-2 down at York with about 10 minutes left and won 4-3? I vividly remember listening to our game at Northampton on the radio in the days where there were just regular reports and no live commentary. With 7 minutes remaining we were 1-0 down and I remember the reporter saying how poor we were and didn't look like scoring. When they went back a minute before the end of the game, Mike Trusson had scored twice and we won 2-1.
V Brighton homeThe greatest game thread got me thinking about the best comebacks that we've had either to draw or win. Off top of my head are:
0-3 to 3-3 v Wigan away under Adkins
0-2 to 3-2 v Colchester in about 5 minutes under Clough
0-2 to 2-2 v Pigs
0-2 to 4-2 v Brighton, Asaba hat trick
0-2 to 4-3 v Forest (nearly forgot that one!)
John Francis flying header scored winnerUnited v Brighton in 1989 90 season was a unique game.
United 3 Brighton 0
United 3 Brighton 4
United 5 Brighton 4!

Has anyone mentioned the comeback at Reading in the 2010-11 relegation season?
Reading were still in the hunt for automatic promotion and we were staring relegation in the face.
God knows what got into us that day.
Reading away in the 2010/11 season. We were dead and buried, 6 points from safety with three to play then 2-0 down after 20 minutes. I was in the verge of leaving but should have kept the faith as two from Henderson, one from Williamson saw us win 3-2. We promptly blew our chance of staying up by drawing the next game 2-2 against Barnsley.
Sat in their main stand for that oneOne that stands out in my mind was at Goodson Park in 1975 . We went in 2-0 down at half time and it could easily have been 4 or 5 , so good were Everton in the first 45 mins .
Our comeback started with a Keith Eddy header from a classic Woody corner and from then on , the Blades put on a fine display orchestrated by TC who went on to score the winner after a Billy Dearden equaliser .
Deep joy .![]()
"Your mum" has always been a favourite comeback of mine.
Or, "Up ya bum on't 2nd shelf"![]()
