The greatest game thread got me thinking about the best comebacks that we've had either to draw or win. Off top of my head are:

0-3 to 3-3 v Wigan away under Adkins
0-2 to 3-2 v Colchester in about 5 minutes under Clough
0-2 to 2-2 v Pigs
0-2 to 4-2 v Brighton, Asaba hat trick
0-2 to 4-3 v Forest (nearly forgot that one!)

The Forest game was a different level altogether, given the importance of the match.

I was at the Wigan game and I can assure you that it didn't feel that good. We had been dire in the first half and half of the away support were chanting "We're fucking shit, we're fucking shit, we're fucking shit...". Somehow Wigan caught our shit disease and managed to be inept enough to let Billy do what Billy does best.

It really wasn't a wonder comeback with all the fans buzzing and leaving the ground happy. Adkins was still shit and it barely papered over the cracks, but with shitty extra thin paper and big deep cracks.

30th Dec 1967 versus Southampton at Bramall Lane.

Southampton had a reyt team in those days.

Campbell Forsyth
Dave Webb
David Walker
Ken Jones
Dennis Hollywood
Jimmy Melia
Jimmy Gabriel........................ 😁 @ 🐷
Mick Channon
Martin Chivers
Ron Davies
Terry Paine

Martin Chivers scored for them in the 1st half and i feared the bratwurst.

But we smashed them in the 2nd half and won 4-1.

Davies and Chivers with Channon in the 10 role is some potent attack.

I was listening to that Wigan match on RS and remember not having the normal buzz of a comeback, purely because we were so shit as you said and that season was meh.

The 3 goals we gave away were a shambles too.

Away at Donny NYD 2013. 2-0 down wishing I hadn't bothered going, hungover and having David Coterill trying to wind up the Blades fans.

Ironside comes on, wins a pen which is put away by Blackman, followed by a Kitson equaliser. FT 2-2

The game against PNE when we came back from 2 nil down to win due to James Thomas' last minute goal was a pretty epic game in an otherwise forgettable season

that was over Christmas in the 00/01 season, was forgettable but i think till 5 games to go we had an outside chance of play offs? The more forgettable season was 01/02 which was an absolute fucking snoozefest.

Brighton away - two down, Asaba hat-trick. 4-2 win. Triple assault season. Local MP on the radio afterwards moaning about the referee :D

Southampton 3, United 3
1993. Down to ten men, losing 3-1, two late Flo goals leading to what I believe the youngsters of today refer to as 'limbs'.

Bouncing day, the pigs comeback to 2-2 is one of my favourite lead ups to one of our goals ever. Without that short lived comeback the Duffy goal and silly bouncing bastards couldn't have happened.

When Joao scored I was all "fuck it, they're gonna win this"

Then out of nowhere...

that bizarre 5-5 game v Swindon had some kind of comeback

Reading away in the 2010/11 season. We were dead and buried, 6 points from safety with three to play then 2-0 down after 20 minutes. I was in the verge of leaving but should have kept the faith as two from Henderson, one from Williamson saw us win 3-2. We promptly blew our chance of staying up by drawing the next game 2-2 against Barnsley.

If we had beat Barnsley would still have been relegated mate
