Really hope so , give him and Houriane a run of games to get some match fitness

With Norwood injured and unsure about Fleck right now looks like he's going to be chucked in. Would rather we eased him in but needs must.

Sure i saw fleck at the game today looked fine

Whilst he's not the messiah...
His to see him back. Slightly odd that both he and McBurnie recover from injuries just as Jokanavic leaves. Probably assessing 2+2 and making 5 though

Perfect timing to bring him back to speed, but do it gradually if others can still play. Now that wrong with yesterdays game or result.
Nice Berge cameo after serious injury.

If, by some miracle, we are to find ourselves in the play-offs then I do feel like it will have to be from Sander Berge coming back into the side and giving that area a massive lift.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but if it is, we will need a major improvement in the middle of the park and he's the only man we have in the squad that can provide it.

He could be the answer. He just needs to front up, puff his chest out and want to be the answer. Times ticking, he can't be a player with potential forever. Time to dominate and force the issue if you want a ticket out of here. He's got the tools, time to use them.

Get him in the team now !

He has time to burn on the ball, is effortless in possession.

3 at the back with Berge in front is an absolute must.

The stats with him in the team suggest otherwise.

Despite my protestations to those praising Berge so highly, I’m happy to see him in our midfield if the manager sees fit. But so far, his contribution to results for SUFC has been (factually) utterly woeful, no matter the formation, manager or division.

You make a very good point - at PL level football.
CW helped greatly to fuck up Berge and Lundstram in the 2nd half of our 1st season with the entire 2nd season being an unmitigated disaster for virtually every player.

He's hardly played in this team at Championship level. Finishing in the playoffs is easily achievable and by the time we hopefully get into the playoffs we should have the best 11 playing their best football to go into that 4 team lottery.

Berge can only make the team better with the qualities he's got at Championship level. There's a reason he was scouted by many clubs and he probably chose the wrong club to sign for - but he's our player now and hopefully a management team that can encourage him to get back to the sort of form that he had with Genk and Norway.

I’ve got an extensive Berge bingo list. I though it was complete, but there’s another;

It’s all Chris Wilder’s fault. :)

I hope you’re right fella - but he’s also failed to impress under 3 managers so far. And his statistical record is crap under 3 managers. That’s what I’ve witnessed, and I’m no longer impressed by a few Cl trouncings and excelling in a poor Belgian league. It’s time he did it for us.

Fingers crossed, honestly.

6 points off as it stands. It's hardly Moses parting the red sea or making a blind man see!

Appreciate what you're saying, but it's 6 points and about 7 teams to get past for us to climb in there. It will take a sustained run of form, the kind of which I haven't seen the makings of from this team.

As I say, if we're going to do it I don't think it's going to come with this current side - particularly these midfield players. It's going to take something new to catapult us. The only players on the fringes are McBurnie, Berge & Burke. I'd only back Berge out of those guys to be the one to add something.

OK, get what you're saying CM, obviously 6 points is 2 wins, 2games, but the.big but is how many more games and points will it take to consolidate with the other play off candidates, it may mean a couple of teams have got to fall by the wayside big time, if you follow my drift UTB

Looking at the likes of Huddersfield, Coventry, Millwall , Blackpool , none of these where brilliant, should have taken more points than we did from these teams. Definitely points to be had when we play them away.
Hate the play offs but it's not behond attainable

1.5pts per game will get you close to the play off's Slav was averaging just over a point per game we will need a run of 20 games averaging 2pts per game to see us in a play off spot with 26 games remaining that is not at all impossible. If we had left Slav in charge until January there would have been no chance at all, everything to play for one team always comes with a late run and usually do well in the play off's.

It's not "impossible," but 2 points a game is automatic promotion form. Have you seen that kind of quality out of this group this season? Hence my point, if it's to happen something will need to change. Berge could be that change, so could McBurnie (if the Swansea version was discovered) but I find that unlikely.

Like most Blades I have been underwhelmed by Berge BUT he looked very imposing in the middle of the park when he came on. I always forget just how big he is!
If he played to his apparent abilities (as reported and occasionally glimpsed by us) he could be a huge asset for the rest of the season.
