Berge

Just a class player, don't be fooled by Deadbat's 6/10 rating best midfielder on the pitch today and getting better every game.

There aren't may players who use their frame as well as him. It's not even a strength thing, it's just a case of getting his body where it needs to be. With options in front of him and an in form Fleck and Norwood he could be a real asset, but at the minute it seems wasted.

Looks better on the right of the midfield three for me - looks really dangerous when running to the by-line. Thought he took the easy option too often when in the centre. A midfield three of Fleck, Norwood and Berge should be fine if given games to find form. Uses his size and strength so well, and is deceptively fast.

He clearly needs to practice screaming when he is fouled. Hopefully Lacazette can teach him next week.

Completely agree I think we’re all forgetting how good Norwood was for the majority of the season 4/5 average games when we have all underperformed doesn’t make him a bad player

I also think berge has been way better in RCM he was just getting into the groove the end of last season now he’s been switched back to CDM

Berge is quality but we shouldn’t sacrifice the entire line up to fit berge like we did when he made his debut against Palace away dropping lunny in mid flow when he was in form.

But Berge has no options. We're playing with this 3 man midfield all miles apart. In front of him is McGoldrick, who spends most of his time not being a goal threat and Oli Burke who, has promise, but is still learning to be a striker - his movement isn't there yet. If we're going to persist with a 3 man midfield then we can't have Osborn and Lundstram starting together.

I've heard his name pronounced three different ways, wonder which he prefers lol. Burger Burge Berg.

Regarding the penalty decision vs Liverpool, the foul (not given) on him before Leeds' goal, and a few other situations, I've wondered if the size of him isn't helping him in some situations. His size and weight gives him a big momentum when running. He uses this to good effect, meaning he's hard to knock off the ball. But when he IS fouled and kicked he's often not really sent flying. Instead he just sort of breaks down, only just going to ground, possibly making the refs think it's not strong enough contact for a foul?
