Did anyone else notice the commentary on sky against QPR? Calling berge, burger typical sky!!!

It is Burger. That's the closest we can get it in English.

I used to know a Norwegian called Georg.
When talking to English, he always introduced himself as "George" but the local pronunciation is "Gee org".

My last boss was a French speaking Belgian and we went to a meeting with a guy called Hugh.
It was impossible for my boss to say "Hew".
 
Sounds like he’s saying bare-geh to me - I can’t hear any gay bears.
 
That used to be my little mini game when watching a match, see how they pronounce his name

Now we have the answer, my new one is Ndiaye. I've heard a couple of variations but I much more enjoy seeing whether they attempt his first name. If they do, they tend to mumble through it.

I worked with some French speakers in Belgium and still can only say Joff for Geoff, and Idee for Idea.
