Interesting if true about the 'guaranteed' minutes bit as Tufty made a point of saying he doesn't agree to that. If that's the case, he must be pencilled in as a starter ahead of Duffy you'd think although it does of course depend on what Liverpool's 'demands' are. If it's appearances, probably not an issue but starts is a different matter.

Cracking signing though and yet another massive boost for the club in how the 'top' clubs see us these days :)

Think this would be a real coup for us if it goes through. Can see him lapping it up in the Championship with the service he will get from the likes of Duffs, Coutts, Fleck, Evans etc.

Very direct player on the occasions I've seen him and keen to prove a point!

Well done CW if we get him, could be a big player for us.

Where's your thread gone ? :D

It will be interesting to see where & how CW plays him if he does indeed join. Tbh I haven't seen a great deal of him but when I have seen him play he's tended to naturally drift wide left (and potentially taking up some of the same space as Fleck). I see quite a few LFC supporters saying they (& even the LFC coaching staff) aren't sure of his best position. Will he be a number 10 (and provide competition for Duffy) and will he preferred as a second striker (and therefore a direct replacement for Brooks)? He does appear to be similar to Brooks in several ways although probably tends to favour a pass rather than dribble as a default. An exciting signing none-the-less.

"Listen Ben, Brucey's my mate, so can you go to Villa please?"

Bruce is one fucking deluded useless prick.

He'll just have to get his son back from Wigan.

Very much so considering we often hear that Wilder won't entertain such clauses

The game has changed. When Tammy Abraham was at Bristol there was a 'no early recall' clause - it can work both ways. A very, very good coup for the Blades, this.

A year old, but this is how it works now. The top clubs have a surfeit of young talent and it's up to us to exploit the loan system.

I’m not ITK but..... a reliable source (also a Liverpool supporter) told me this morning that Woodburn is having his medical with us today. Looks like Giddings is right.

So much shit about clauses from Villa "sources" who just yesterday were saying Woodburn was definitely signing for them .

Really happy with this if we can pull it off. He’ll be by far the most exciting player in the squad. Looking forward to his late winner at Elland Road.

Looks like Giggsy has told Brucie 'he'll have a word' or some such...and Brucie's told their journo's...good 'ol Klopp eh, always liked the lad. :)

If this goes ahead I'll be absolutely delighted and if Chris can come up with a formation that allows him , McGoldrick , Billy and Leon all too be in the same line up , I can see us handing out a few good hidings next season .

Great signing. BBC appear to think that it’s a done deal and chose us over Villa because Grealish hasn’t been sold.
Looking at the Liverpool forum it looks like he has had a strong pre season and got better as it progressed.
Only issue is his best position but he has the talent

What would please me (nearly) as much if this comes off is the confidence Klopp and Liverpool have in us, our manager and his team, what a fantastic endorsement of our club, my senses are starting to fill.
Perhaps Klopp has more confidence in our club than some of our own ''so called' supporters. If the season loan goes through ok,it will be by far the best choice for the player and both clubs,i'm fairly sure he will play as many games as Brooks would have done if he had stayed.

This will be a great signing, and I can’t see why we wouldn’t be in for Freeman as well.

Woodburn will be the second striker to play alongside Clarke or McGoldrick, and Freeman would be there to battle it out with Duffy.

Of course getting both would give us more flexibility during games with both Freeman and Woodburn being able to play out wide if needed.

I was going to post a new thread.... but thought not...

SSN now reporting: Looks a goer lads!!!

BLADES CLOSE ON WOODBURN

Sky sources: Sheffield United are close to agreeing a season-long loan move for Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player but also thinks a season at the right club would help his development.

This signing is exciting, it is the only way we are going to get near the playoffs, is if we have a real game changer, like Brooks was first half of last season. Hope it comes off.
